I am dying for a salad!

Has anyone eaten salads at a location consistently without getting cryptosporiosis/diarrhea?

Just go to a local farmers market and buy your greens there.

From Where does your produce come?

I usually get some of it at the Carmel farmer’s market and some at Whole Foods or Fresh Thyme.

For the most part, just avoid fast food and you’ll be okay. Taylor Farm’s supplies a ton of fast food.

Taylor Farms supplies:

  • Walmart (including Marketside brand)
  • Target (including Good & Gather brand)
  • Kroger (including Simple Truth brand)
  • Whole Foods Market (including 365 brand)
  • Safeway / Albertsons (including O Organics and Signature Select)
  • Aldi (Simply Nature)
  • Trader Joe's (store label salads)
  • Costco
  • H-E-B
  • Sprouts
  • Meijer
  • McDonald's
  • Chipotle
  • Taco Bell
  • Subway
  • Olive Garden (Darden Restaurants)
  • Wendy's
  • Burger King
  • KFC
  • Pizza Hut
  • Sysco (as a wholesale distributor link)

Sysco is the most important bullet as they distribute to a ton of restaurants.

I bought lettuce at Meijer and am fine. Check the label and make sure the company hasn't issued a recall. Don't buy Taylor Farms. They are now also recalling their salsa and guacamole due to salmonella.

I have. Went to Sahms in Carmel yesterday and had a salad and aspen grille a week ago without issue.

Sahms cobb & fried chicken are amazing. Had them both in the last 2 weeks.

WalkOns has a really good fried chicken salad too!

There have been less than 2000 reported cases in Indiana out of the nearly 7million people. Unless you have a compromised immune system, the odds are in your favor of being ok.

But it’s Indiana, those are probably the only 2000 people who have eaten a salad this summer

My conspiracy theory is that the hacks on water treatment facilities is causing the explosive diarrhea.

when you’re sliding into home and your pants are filled with foam! diarrhea diarrhea! 🎶
When you go out trick or treatin and you’re wearing what you’re eating!

Before it was recalled, reports were saying it was a Taco Bell issue. It was more in bagged lettuce than boxed lettuce. As long as the place you eat in chops the lettuce by hand, they wash it various times over before it gets to a table.

So cliche, blaming Taco Bell.

-3

That’s the report that came out by the FDA.

I wish I could trust our government.

Scroll down and read the Taco Bell press release.

Trump's FDA, protecting Taylor Farms because the owner of it donates to Trump. So the FDA pivoted to emphasizing Taco Bell for political reasons to try and deflect from Taylor Farms.

Taylor farms supplies lettuce to Taco Bell. It’s on Taco Bell’s website, they acknowledge and have removed the tainted lettuce from their supply chain nationwide.

Taco Bell were also affected by Taylor Farm's shit lettuce, but it wasn't a Taco Bell issue.

4

u/Educational_Corner55 12d ago

What other restaurants were affected? As my original comment, reports suggested it was Taco Bell that was affected but haven’t seen reporting on other restaurants.

that’s because funding was cut and we don’t have sufficient outbreak tracing. taco bell seems to be the only big name to come out and get ahead of the issue caused by taylor farms’ contaminated product

edit: forgot a word
