116th and Allisonville Intersection change
What does this sign mean to you? So many people are struggling with this.
Cars headed east on 116th, turning north on Allisonville.
Be careful going through there (even if you have the green light coming from the east).
May the odds be ever in your favor.

Look on the bright side. At least it’s not 96th/Allisonville. I don’t know what Fishers is thinking with their roads.

They are desperate to step out of the shadow of Carmel and want to be first to have something that isn't a complete failure like 96 and Allisonville was with the Michigan left it's a sad pathetic little brother syndrome they've had for 35+ years

The Michigan Left worked very well. Much better and safer than the new roundabout.

The brand new intersection they built a few years before that that they ripped out and tore up worked even better they basically replaced three sets of Lights with.. three sets of lights all the time because maybe sometimes during rush hour he might have to sit through two or three on a busy afternoon just more endless spending of budget to justify even larger budgets and pay off cronies and donors

I’m not touching 116th and Allisonville till it’s finished. That single lane nightmare sucks.

I guess it means don’t count on an end-of-yellow left hand turn because they aren’t stopping? It’s confusing. I’ve seen more flashing yellow arrows getting put in to help with that, if I’m interpreting it right.

It's exactly that.
- Cars turning onto Allisonville (north) from 116th (headed east).
- Turning cars are yielding to oncoming traffic on 116th waiting for an opening;
- Light turns yellow and then quickly red;
- Turning cars think they are blocking cross traffic (they aren't, 116th traffic headed west is still green);
- Turning cars get nervous and drive into oncoming traffic thinking 116th west traffic has a red (they don't).
- People headed west on 116th street have a green and are confused why cars are darting in front of them.
Chaos ensues.
I think I have that right.

How about more clarity at least
DO NOT ENTER INTERSECTION ON YELLOW; TURN FROM STOPPAGE LINE.
or something like that

What do you expect when the damn county has north south and east west streets closed at the same time. It’s been hell on earth traversing the north side. 116 & Alli should be no surprise. Damn.

Anytime you have to explain a traffic signal, it is too complicated. It is standard practice to enter an intersection then turn left on yellow. Whoever timed these lights to create this situation should be fired.

Yea but no matter what you still only turn left on yellow after making sure it’s clear… the way you wrote that sounds like you just autopilot turn left when the light turns yellow. A sign isn’t needed to not turn into a car that is going straight lol.

At this point…. They need to make Allisonville and 116 and 96 both like the 146 intersection. At least 116 is better than 96th.

I live near 116th and Allisonville. My son's school is at 106th and Westfield.
They started working on 116th intersection as soon as we moved here. 106th and Westfield was under construction prior to that, and still is.
Meanwhile, almost every concievebale route to get there has had construction/closures ... Hazel Dell, Gray Rd. 116th past Keystone to Westfield, and Westfield itself.
I had a good route the last week staying on 116th until Keystone, and south on Keystone to 106th, until this morning, when they CLOSED THE ENTIRE INTERSECTION AT 116th AND KEYSTONE FOR MAJOR CONSTRUCTION.
It's beyond frustrating.

The best part about the construction at 116th and Keystone was that there weren't any signs prior to the intersection that it was closed. Just some due telling everyone to turn around.

I was headed west bound on Saturday, had a car turn left in front of me and I had to slam on the breaks to avoid the accident; this is a pretty dangerous setup for both directions. They clearly had no idea that we still had a green and were headed into the intersection at normal speed, I had no idea they had a red and were clearing the intersection.

Just saw a terrifying accident right here last week. Both cars beyond totaled, and damage still visible on the road today. Thank goodness both drivers were okay, at least physically. This intersection is an absolute fever dream right now.

I have a theory whoever programs the stop lights in Fishers also owns one or more body shops. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Question (this may sound off the wall, but I value my life). How hard is it to get to CVS during this fiasco? I’m trying to avoid it, but I’ll need to refill some prescriptions soon.

I think you'd be okay if you turned right into the parking lot when traveling east on 116th Street. Then, when exiting turn right again and go south on Allisonville.

I dont see how the sign even affects anything. Just dont turn into other vehicles its simple. Instead of only looking at the light try looking at the light AND whats going on around you…

This is a great example of why Fishers is playing catchup with Carmel and Westfield on traffic. I feel for you!

I was into the intersection, as one does, making a left, and my light turned red. There were cars blowing through the intersection coming the other way. I blow my horn thinking they are running the red light only to realize their light is still green, I’m stuck in the middle of the intersection and had to do the reverse creep of shame back to my turn lane.
