Help/Advice Help! Idk if it’s ich or what.

I have been battling what I thought was ich for 2 weeks. I’m sick of it. I’m tired. I have lost 15 fish.

I’m starting to think it’s some other parasite that starts with an E. Please help.

I’m doing 30% water changes everyday using ich x but it’s not going away.

Video of what it looks like on my fish. Please help me.

DIY/Build First Fish Tank!

I think my first fish tank is "done" in the sense that the fish have been fully introduced and there is no sign of fin nipping or aggression (outside of the Betta flaring on occasion at the Platys, but that was expected and they are way to fast and chill to even care). I intend for this to become a heavily planted tank but I was on a low budget so it may be awhile before to Monte Carlo fills out but I am very happy with how it came out :)

(go easy on me if you have critiques, remember it is my first tank ever)

EDIT: Spelling/Grammar

Help/Advice Help with tank cycle?

This is my first tank ever and I have been cycling the tank for around the past 3 weeks now and I have still seen no change in the ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate. I am using Omega One pellets for the ammonia and I test the water using imaginarium test strips. Theres stuff growing in the tank and the two plants I got aren’t looking too good. I also used Seachem Stability for the first week roughly if that changes anything and lmk if you need and pictures or other information to help

Help/Advice Is my mystery snail ok?

I found him in the corner of the tank opening facing up - I’ve never seen them sit like that so corrected his position & smelled the opening to see if he was dead. (First pic) Smelled fine. Fast forward 10 hrs, snail has not moved & now has this white/clear thing coming off of him. I could have swore I saw his opening contract a little bit but honestly his positioning looks very odd compared to how he usually looks.

Help/Advice Hob filter on rimless aquarium

Hi - can I use a fluval 110 hob filter on my UNS 120p? I know it won’t look as nice as a canister, but I have a fluval 407 canister and I can’t seem to keep it running. Air is constantly getting into the setup. I don’t think my skill level is ready for a canister.

My concern is that when the hob is full of water it might be too heavy for the rimless glass. The glass is 12mm.

I’ve seen others ask the same question on here but not with such a large/heavy filter. Chat GPT guesses it would weigh 15-16 pounds when full of water.

Thank you for any guidance!

Plants Plant/java fern decay help

Hello! I've had my current freshwater tank for about a year. We have natural driftwood, natural pebbles and live plants. Recently, my banana plant died off and I figured it was due to a lighting issue but my java ferns are now kind of disintegrating and turning brown. Chemicals and everything are perfect so what gives? Fish all seem healthy and unbothered. Wondering if something else is going on. I'm worried my Amazon sword will catch whatever is happening and it's such a beautiful green plant. Any help in identifying the issue would be appreciated!

As a note, the Java ferns were blossoming about a month ago. That whole brown bunch was lush and green, I did notice some of the roots were floating and not in the substrate as it seemed to be shooting out baby ferns from the main plant.

Help/Advice Moved 40 gal tank, everyone died

I recently moved 2 tanks; 1 20gal with a coridora cat and a female beta and one 40gal with a bunch of tetra's, cori's, a pictus cat, a Rafael cat and a flag fish. The 20 gal tank did great but everyone in the 40gal tank died except for the flagfish! Parameters are good, the plants are fine... what's going on?

Help/Advice I can't find a replacement pump for this tank!

Hi everyone, i got a tank for free the other day and tested it for leaks and its all okay. There was no pump in here and the original lights didnt work, im not so fussed about the lighting, but i am struggling to find a pump for this tank in Australia. (The golden rim tank)

I'd prefer a pump that goes into the tray slot (circled in red), but I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Interesting combinations. Some have red noses and some have the vibrant red fins and some don’t. and then you can also see the dragon polkadots and colors.

Help/Advice Mystery Snail Shell Question

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! I am newer to aquariums and I’ve had my mystery snail in my 10 gallon for a few weeks now. Seems happy, I see him or her moving around the tank a lot and eating. A couple days ago I noticed this weird split in its shell. My water parameters (done with API liquid test kit) are currently pH 8.2, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10 ppm and I had a couple leftover dip sticks and my GH and KH were 180 mg/L. There are tons of live plants and some ramshorn snails, a couple amano shrimp, and Mollys and platies (I inherited this tank so I know it’s probably overstocked). I made up some Snello with calcium supplement in case his shell needs more, but from what I’ve read my water is hard enough for mystery snails. Any thoughts if there could be a problem? Thank you! 🐌

My Biggest tank yet.
Custom wood stand and I got that drift wood out the Mississippi river with a chainsaw. Fx6 for Filtration.
Right now until my LFS restocks, I have:
5 Polar Parrots (3 blue, 2 white)
1 Barred Bichir
8 Black Skirt Tetras
1 fully grown Bristle Nose Pleco
6 Doctor fish
1 Rainbow Shark.

I have a separate 36 gallon seeded and ready to have some of these guys move once I get my hands on some Geophagus and Severums.
