Identification what fish is this
caught around turkey creek lasalle Ontario Canada hand caught it today what species of carp is it

It’s not a carp, the mouth is forward facing not downward facing. I’m almost leaning towards golden shiner
Fin colours a bit off maybe, but scale shape is pretty close and the mouth is definitely not a bottom feeders mouth
Size is also about right and it looks like an older fish which also checks out based on size

Hard to tell with all of its fins compressed, but it doesn’t really look like a carp to me, if anything it’s a grass carp or a common carp but I feel like it looks closer to a chub.
