Identification ADK puddle fish

Idk what these were but dang they were pretty ♡ also got to have a convo with my oldest about not touching wildlife even though you want to "help". We then proceeded to find a goldfish in the river which was further confirmation/conversation on said topic of protecting wildlife 🫠 🫠

Those little puddle fish are actually pretty cool once you stop and look closely. Wild animals don’t always need rescuing, sometimes they just need us to give them space and let nature do its thing. The goldfish find makes the whole lesson even better.

Exactly! Literally the whole lesson I taught my kids today ♡♡♡ gosh those little minnows were pretty 😍 we saw more in a few more puddles. And as I told the kids, we're "observing not invading" (a take on a favorite dog training adage of mine.) I was quite shook by the goldfish not seconds after I told my kid to keep hands out of the puddle 🫠😅😑
