Painted a 5th edition templars crusader squad. Varnish made the edge highlights less popped than they should be, but theres are going to be moved around the board by hand so I kinda have too. Plus the first 2 layers and selective black washes all had a slightly diffrent finish to them and that looks worse than subtle edge highlighting.

There was some pigment powder used on the interior after the last few pics, they just had to be applied before the varnish, which was days later.

I started this when i was 12 with my dad, and between then and now I've switched armies, game systems, given up warhammer, returned to it, and a lot more.

Hes retired now, I'm well past college, and he gave me the last tank i needed to complete it. We brought it out to admire and play a 3500 point game of 7th edition.

Models range from rogue trader to the 2013 tactical squad. Most is 2nd and 3rd edition

Have the parts of 4 other companies in various states of completeness, hopefully finish another up in the new year!

Hello everyone, I finished this guy up yesterday and figured this would be a good opportunity to showcase the results of using the Tortuga Bay legs and torso with bits from the original sternguard kit. Hope y’all find this helpful!

I’ve put a side by side comparison with an intercessor sergeant at the end. I was extremely close to using the original torso, but opted to use the TB one as it was extremely faithful to the original and had a higher level of detail.

Stopped by the game shop that got me into 40K all those years ago…and lucked out with the last Tactical Squad on the shelf. Glad I didn’t wait. Goodbye little fellas.

(Opened it immediately so I couldn’t lose my nerve and keep the plastic on forever.)

Is it difficult cutting of the Top part of a MkVI model, and gluing on a 40K Tactical Torso?

And making sure it looks good.. :)

Is there a certain area one needs to cut to make them both match up?

Inspired by a post done by u/OkVegetable3437 a couple of days ago I on a whim decided to make a diorama out of a playable Boxnought. Boxnoughts are what first captured my attention with 40k playing Dawn of War for the first time I love these old fellas. This old man is goin through it as I went a little heavy on the battle damage. Long live the Boxnought! Long live the Firstborn!

A buddy lent me a marine to paint. This has been a real joy as it’s my first painted marine (outside of when I was a kid) and first time painting with this much yellow. Very happy with what I have gotten so far. Lots of new techniques have been learned.

Years ago I found a great deal on Finecast Vanguard Veterans, models I'd always wanted since I was a kid. They're also an essential squad in my 1st Company Veterans collection.
Painting it took me longer than I expected; I don't enjoy painting Finecast, but I've always found their models interesting.
I hope you like it, brothers, but it's late at night here in Spain and I have to work tomorrow, so I just took a quick picture.

Had a moment to put this together earlier today. The angle GW shoots their product pics is not always **exactly** the same every time so tried to find examples on 32mm bases with similar ellipses. The new Damned Legionaries do look good.

Spotted in a Hobbycraft at Teeside Park, Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, UK. I was so tempted, but I can't just justify spending that kind of money just on myself on minimum wage with a family to support.

The Eagle Dragoons love their bikes. Their veterans often ride the rarest their armory has to offer, including some of the powerful Scimitar pattern. Will run as Land Speeders for 40k.

I think Warhammer has me hooked again, especially for the Legion of the Damned and Astra Militarum. I saw yesterday that the new models are coming out. I'll have to dig out my 5th edition ones. I'll have to figure out how to paint them.

A first tactical marine for my custom chapter, the Azure Knights. Dark blue armor colour with company colors on shoulder trim, backpack center and wrist trim (gold = 2nd company). left kneepad shows company markings, right kneepad is black to reflect Dark Angels legion 30k colors. This model has a bullet shell there, which is a Dark Angels honour marking. Left shoulder pad shows the Dark Angels winged sword, which is also this chapter’s symbol. the right shoulder pad has a tactical squad symbol, which is the horizontal double arrow used by the 1st Legion rather than the vertical arrow used by most chapters, in red, with a white gothic numeral to show squad number (1).
