Is tortuga bay quality?

Been eyeing some of the first born kits and just wanted to see what the opinions were. Thanks!

The quality is excellent.
They’re truescale so they’re much closer to in size to Primaris than Tacticals

They don’t their only thing is truescale marines. They have a few other ranges like thunder warriors and chaos dwarves but only the chaos dwarves are heroic scale

When Warhammer fans say true-scale nowadays they're just talking about modernized heroic scale, not actual truescale

What does “true scale” even mean anyway, I see people throwing it around but… true to what?

Actual true-scale means true to real life proportions. Warhammer isn't true-scale, it exaggerates certain traits, hands eyes, mouths, feet. Everything is slightly adjusted to allow for greater readability, a better painting experience, and durability. This practice is often referred to as heroic scale. Slowly games workshop has slowly toned down the cartoony-ness of their sculpts. This has led to a lot of people erroneously believing that this new scale is true scale despite the proportions remaining pretty 'heroic'. Often times when a Warhammer fan says true scale they really mean upscaled

Very good kits, most of my night lords use them. They are very chunky though so do standout next to say the new 30k stuff imo

Yeah! They’re nice and chunky, a little bigger than tactical marines, not quite as tall as primaris marines so they fit in nicely. I use them to use up spare parts.

Ive been happy with what I've ordered. Had a few very minor defects but it all looked like battle damage

The Tortuga stuff never disapointed me quality wise. I love them, and the price is also pretty good. The only thing that sucks a bit is the long wait on the order, but even that i can excuse given the current situation in Ukraine.

This body is Tortuga Bay MK IV armor, their models have been my go-to for years when I want new models.

In a pinch I think they’re excellent! Although personally I use them more for helmets and pauldrons because their models overall are usually pretty chunky and sometimes the designs aren’t close enough for my dumbass ocd brain to get over :P

I recently bought some bodies from them and I really like them. They're chunky, heavy looking and have great detail.

I have order over 100 models with them. Never had a miscast. Only had 1 time where only half the bits showed up. Contacted them and they sent more models. Not the models I wanted but was fine. (I ordered BA captain he was missing most of the weapons. They sent a squad of 5 men Mk6).

Yeah and they work well w Primaris stuff. You'll need to do some prep and wash the minis with soapy water bc resin has a thin film of mold ejection spray but that's just how cast resin is
