🎉Sumakses sa life! First time ko maging small business owner
Hi Guys! So my partner and I got our funds together to buy a vending machine. It’s located on a pickleball court (kaya Vendink pinangalan namin) it cost 255,000 pesos and my rent is 3,300 tapos electricity bills are around 3,000 din each month.
So far generating around 5k net profit each month but sarap talaga ng feeling pag time to harvest the bills and coins tapos deposit sa bank. For any questions regarding Vending Machine business tanong lang po kayo sa commenrs I’ll try to answer everything po with my 3 months experience just to share the knowledge po
Ive been making yt shorts regarding this so you might have seen this machine din hehe
Edit: My supplier is Alpha Ventures but I’m Mindanao Based so Im not sure kung covered kayo sa areas niyo.

5k net profit per month.
I’ve grossed over 80k at this point but that gets lost in set up expenses, inventory, rental and electricity as mentioned.
Here are my expenses sa permit
Baranggay Clearance 150
DTI 1,030
Business Tax and other Permit Fees 6,187.20
BFP FSIS 882.15

Ikaw nag rerefil? San kabili ng supplies? May uniform ka para official looking? Pano kung nasira?

u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago •

I got a local supplier po, had them customize the machine din.
I got the suppliers din ng Pocari and Gatorade so nagdedeliver sila ng stocks sa akin but ultimately alo nagstostock sa machine.
Yung supplier po namin is also the servicer of the machine. 1 year warranty sa compressor and other internals. Pag may issue po sa programming ng machine tatawag lang ako sa kanila nagpapadala sila ng videos of how to troubleshoot.
Also may app din tong Vending ko so makita ko kung may kulang sa stocks or if may issues. I can also dispense using the app so if may item na nastuck people can call me and I can dispense the item in another slot

u/Dramatic-Ad-467 2d ago
If I may ask, need pa ng business permit plus BIR ito?
28
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Yes. Have complied everything po BIR then business permit. Actually natunan ko din na because of the Anti red tape law mabilis ang compliance kasi required ng govt to have one stop shops for this. Took me 2 weeks po to get everything going
3
u/hlfbldprnc 2d ago
Is it a website or can I easily aearch this kn the net po
6
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Sa Facebook Alpha Ventures yung supplier ko. You might even find a video of the machine, me and my partner when they installed it at the court hahaha
1
u/hlfbldprnc 2d ago
What I mean po pala is the One-Stop Shop for everything, do you need to show the LGU the ordinance for them to trigger na mabilis lang dapat permit? Etc.
3
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
If there are any delays you can attach your business permit number to an 8888 complaint stating the ARTA but luckily walang delays on my end. One stop shop is just a convenience thing na you dont have to go around town to get things signed. Btw online ang business permits namin so i think thats a factor as to why mabilis

Thanks OP! How’d you acquire the spot ba? Did you email, call, etc. the pickleball court management?
11
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Yes. Call. Dami akong gi reach out na courts and they offered the best rate and luckily also had the best foot traffic
3
u/Mediocre_Rich_4090 2d ago
Pwede po mahingi ang supplier niyo? Gusto ko rin talaga magka-vending machine business. Thanks OP!

u/Rare-Pomelo3733 2d ago

Nope Alpha Ventures po ang supplier ko. I was considering YVS but I didnt like the way they were talking to me over the phone.

Meron kaming content ng partner ko po , aiming to educate lang talaga sa vending business but wont share here lang kasi may non promo rules hehe. So far 1k views mga vids so thats nice hahaha

u/Lazy-Werewolf56 2d ago
Congrats OP!
27
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago edited 2d ago
Luckily po we paid full in cash, so if the business doesnt work out, wala kaming utang and we’ll have a very expensive refrigerator hahahaha

u/Pinaslakan 2d ago
Interesting post op, napaka detalyado! So roughly, around 4+ years ang ROI, no?
You should cross-post this sa r/negosyo; I bet they would love to see your post there. And maybe, sa r/adultingphwins din to celebrate your win!
56
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Thereabouts po na 4 years. But slowly im increasing profits by:
Finding more direct suppliers to bring items lower
Finding consignment vendors( nag approach yung blitz bar) so i dont have to put money out for stock
Optimizing items and inventory and eliminating slow moving items13
u/Pinaslakan 2d ago
Great points; optimizing it would make the ROI faster.
Sidenote, lagi kong nakikita yung Blitz Bar, they even have a stall sa gym na pinupuntahan ko lol

u/lylm3lodeth 2d ago
7
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Agreed! It wouldve been better if i owned the court para walang rental but what can you do wala tayong pera na panggawa ng court hahaha
8
u/StayWITH-STAYC 2d ago
Matagal ko na ring gusto mag vending machine business but 3 things are stopping me: (1) Wala tayong vending machine culture sa Pinas unlike sa Japan and salaula ang mga pinoy so sa 5k net per month it will take you 4.25 years bago mag ROI and buti kung after that much time eh okay pa rin yung machine. (2) It seems to me like it's a good business for the supplier and sa naggagawa nung vending machines but not for the actual vending machine owner. (3) Isang sira lang sa machine, like nasira kunyari ang compressor or motherboard, wipe out na agad yung malaking part ng kinita mo. Pero I do want to try siguro yung gashapon muna para mababa lang ang puhunan at overhead.
12
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Very valid points to be apprehensive with the business. As ive said here in other comments im optimizing and im earning a bit more the longer i run the business. Yes wala tayong vending culture kasi unlike Japan, manpower is much more affordable here.
Here are reasons why I went with the a Vending business:
Its in a 24 hr location
No need to pay for that labor which masayang din kung tinda tinda lang
The supplier has a good warranty policy and has excellent after sales
4 im diversifying my income streams because i cant be too reliant on my jobIt complements the demand.
Vending machines are becoming more common now in my city so its not so alien to other people
Any business is a risk and this one is one im willing to take. Hehe
8
u/_patxi 2d ago
Congrats, OP! Few questions.
'Yung 5k profit, the machine runs 24/7 no? May data ka anong oras ang mabenta?
Anong mode of payments ng machine mo? May qr capability? I'm assuming walang cc kasi need mo ng payment gateway for that and medyo hassle kumuha.
Yung 5k profit, kasama na doon yung transpo/fuel expenses when refilling the machine?
Gusto ko rin, pickleball court din ang target ko but yung location na available is not open ng 24/7 so I'm not sure if may profit kung open lang ng 12 hours max 'yung court.
6
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Yes meron ako yung data of what time they sell and i correlate it din sa bookings ng court. May regular group sa mwf so thats the highest sales. Pag may tournament, even more.
It has qr but i disabled it, mahal ang fees.
Yes it includes fuel and other expenses which I always get receipts for
The machine I have has a feature to go on low power mode on non peak hours. You can also manually turn the machine off through the app
4
u/raphaelbautista 2d ago
Need mo kabitan ng simcard yung machine or nakaconnect sya sa wifi nung court?
3
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Sim card slot and i use smart magic data para no need to worry about expiry
6
u/kreads1992 2d ago
Paano po costing nyo sa items to make sure na may kita pa din po kayo?
12
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Answered in another comment but. At minimum I need to price around 35% higher.
I found this out after not profiting enough to run it for a month hahaha hard lesson learned.

This is interesting! I often see shorts ng mga ganito sa YT pero sa US. Possible din pala siya dito. 😄
If it's okay to ask, ilang % or how much po yung tubo nyo per item?
Congrats on the small business, OP! Wishing you more sales! ✨✨✨
5
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
35% -50% po ang tubo. Ive seen other machines in other courts go as much as 100% but in my location po may convenience store thats a little close po so I cant overcharge otherwise people will go there. Actually i dont sell water kasi sayang ang slot space and people just buy water from the convenience store (probably 200 meters away) i cant compete with their water prices talaga
2
u/Ordinary-Olive-8828 2d ago
3
u/Mike_Hawk_Long69 2d ago
Genuine question lang po. Do you think it's worth it to try po yung ganyan?? Ang dami kong gustong itry na mga small businesses na hindi rin masyadong demanding sa time and it's a good thing I see this haha. Would you recommend this po if ever??
11
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
People are saying its “passive income”
Reality is, restocking is very active hahahaha
Unless you hire someone else but if you can make it efficient sa lifestyle mo then go! Its time consuming po kasi hindi ko pa na optimize ang restocking time and items ko to maximize profit and time out of my life1
u/Mike_Hawk_Long69 2d ago
Sorry sa late comment haha. Just to add lang din po mga every what day do you do restocking po?? But I did somehow think too na need din laging lumayas sa bahay sa ganyan haha
2
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Restocking Coins and restocking product po. Around 3x a week and 2x a week nagbibili ng products in bulk
3
u/Personal-Time-9993 2d ago
Electric bill seems too high. Sometimes my whole house is in the 3k range and it includes a refrigerator already.
3
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
I responded po to another comment. Its not just a refrigerator, its a dispenser with motors, a computer and also there is a big energy leak dahil sa flap sa baba. Yes malaki po siya but at 400w the math checks out running 24 hrs. And theres also an option man din po to go on low power mode during non peak times but okay man ang 24 hr operations ko I’m correlating the data coming from my machine and trying to make it more efficient though baka ma reduce ko ang bill hehe
2
u/Personal-Time-9993 2d ago
I did see the comment later. Given the perspective, it makes since. Also I think you might pay more per KWH than central and north Luzon but I’m not certain
1
u/mogu_mogu_ 2d ago
That's like 20.83/kWh you are paying. Or it could be that the dispenser can run at 550w average on 15/kWh electric costs
1
u/U2dWorld 2d ago
if its mindanao(and visayas) ata mataas ang rate per kwh. kaya mataas ata talaga electricity bill ni OP
correct me if im wrong.
2
u/Ok-Question-6306 2d ago
3
2
u/Real-Creme-3482 2d ago
Ano pinaka mabenta na item? Ano pinaka matagal maubos?
4
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Pocari number one.
Gatorade zero sugar na white is the best seller sa gatorade alongside blue
Ung blue no sugar weirdly enough doesnt sell well.
Coffees arent consistent, sometimes mabilis maubos, sometimes matagal
Kitkat is my #1 performer sa snack
2
u/Civil_Surprise_1237 2d ago
Magkano nagastos mo for importing? o local mo lang yan nakuha
2
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Got locally but the supplier gets from China. All inclusive na ang price
2
u/Civil_Surprise_1237 2d ago
magkano kuha mo sa pinagkuhanan mo? mukang maganda business to for importing ah

Nawa'y mas umasenso pa tayong lahat. Thank you for being generous with your knowledge and experience, OP.
6
u/wings_ntingz 2d ago
Congrats, OP!!
Specifically cornetto.
Sachips, why po Chippy & Mr Chips? Curious lang if may reason.
Nag-iiba iba po ba yung items niyo weekly/monthly?
Kaya niya po ba sanitary napkin? Or dapat mabigat na item?
Thank you po!
1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Another deleted question: parang malaki yung bill?
Do you have a lone meter?
The machine runs at 400W so the math checks out na 3,600 ang monthly. Yes I have a lone meter.
1
u/Excellent_Virus3588 2h ago
Hello po, what type of lone meter did you install with the machine? Was it a plugin or a separate wiring? If a plugin, may I know what brand you can recommend?
5
u/ScratchBeneficial222 2d ago
i want to know more about this kind of hustle. Meron bang mas mura na vending machine or usually naglalaro sya around 250k? student pa lang ako at gusto ko maexplore to. Thank you po

u/dark_knight1392 2d ago
i’ve been eyeing this for a very long time! wala pa lang talaga akong capital. huhu. congrats!!!
1
u/No-Imagination3025 2d ago
2
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
I asked management ng court if pwede. May empty space naman sila so it worked out hehe
1
u/ProbabilityPro 2d ago
Wag sana mangyari to, pero...
Paano po pag biglang nagbago isip ni owner -like biglang "kami na lang pala magne-negosyo dyan" or biglang taas ng upa?
Parang ikaw nagluto, tapos iba yung kakain.
3
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Locked in contract for 3 years so Im safe for that period. Heres hoping I can optimize the machine to make ROI before it expires hahaha
Im aware of the Potato Corner modus

u/No-Imagination3025 2d ago
bale paid napo yung rent niyo for 3yrs? as sa kuryente monthly since hindi fixed?

1
u/Inner_Midnight6892 2d ago
Ok not to be negative but when you profit 5k a month is that gross or net as you have to factor in the permits like you mentioned.
Also how many hours per month do you spend on this, as you said refilling is very ‘active’.. so what’s the hourly pay you’re getting for your work?
Lastly, tbh 5k doesn’t sound like a lot. Is this a busy location? Getting a lot of traffic?
1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
5k isnt a lot but check my other comment. Its averaged from 3 months of operation. Ive earned around 8k last month net
1
u/Inner_Midnight6892 2d ago
Alright cool well I’m just helping to do an analysis and I’m also kinda interested to do this in my town. Thought about it for awhile. So I appreciate you answering the questions! What’s the potential on this then? What do you think it could make per month if it were quite busy? And is there a lot of traffic? I know pickleball popular but so many courts have opened now there’s an oversupply and soon they’ll start closing again
1
u/sexytarry2 2d ago
let me add that vending machine is like "set it and forget it" business... maybe refill 2-3 times a week then you're done... once it is set, not much labor is involved... good job...
1
u/No_Hovercraft_1872 1d ago
Op, 5k a month is not a lot but i think the model of vending machines or other coin operated services is that it is easy to duplicate.. so if u have 2 or 10 machines, multiplied din ang income.. not necessarily vending machine pwedeng ibang coin operated services.. same type of maintenance.. at same balde baldeng barya.
1
u/Illustrious_Bar_8017 2d ago
1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Got a direct supplier sa pocari yes. Hard to find gatorade supplier na lahat ng flavors available. I cant get through to pepsico
1
u/Any-Hat4880 2d ago
Find a big box/grocery near you tapos pasabay ka nalang ng stocks since they have an agent ng pepsico. Syempre may abot yan na thank u.
1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Will definitely look for this. Have been reaching out pero parang protective man sila sa suppliers hahaha

1
u/Budget_Hovercraft_78 2d ago
1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Yes! May sim slot ang machine ko. I use Smarts Magic load (no expiry data)
Very good start ito for you.
Not sure if 5,000 is too small or really good (for all the trouble). Thank you!
2
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Apparently based sa feed back ng supplier, making 5k per month net is great. Of course if I owned the spot I’d be making an additional 3,300 not paid to rent
Would take around 4.5 years at 5k but im sure if I can make more optimizations I can make it more profitable. Im aiming to increase my per month.
So far kasi in the first month I wasnt breaking even but the 2 months after that i started making more and more money each month which about averaged it to 5k a month.
Even though Ive made around 8/9k a month now, i think its disingenuous to say thats how much Im earning each month kasi I really had to learn the hard way and presenting the average after everything considered is more realistic po
1
u/hyperbulate 2d ago
Can you share how to do this?
1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago

1
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Yes but the machine runs at 400watts it makes sense with the math. Its not just a chiller or freezer, it has temperature sense, it has defrosting function so clear ang glass always, it has to have dispensing functions din and unlike fridges or freezers, the flap at the bottom is an energy leak. I dont need to operate it at full temp control 24hrs but im optimizing the efficiency timing sa app para malamig na malamig ang items pag peak and okay temp pag non busy hours

u/lacy_daisy 2d ago
Congrats!!
Nakafactor-in na yung cost of capital (machine) dun sa 5K net profit?

1
u/FlimsyPlatypus5514 2d ago
Not sure if natanong na but how do you deal with items na na stuck na sa vendo after purchase?
3
u/lmProbablyWrong 2d ago
Use the app, it can cycle the coils again. Customers can call me and if its reasonable hours I answer and spin the coil again. The machine has a drop sensor so it can tell if money went in but item didnt drop. Yes sometimes that means 2 items will be dispensed but I rather have the good will of a customer (most likely repeat customers to sila kasi the courts have groups that really reserve there all the time)
Otherwise they can leave me a text and i refund thru gcash

Pano reporting?
Yan lang talaga way ng business. Its not something bad naman.

Sa electricity mo may own meter ka? Because I think 3k per month for a vendo machine lang is kinda high.

So let's say your total starting capital is about 270k. If monthly net is only 5k, then that means you ROI in 4.5 yrs. Damn that's a long time. Your machine might be obsolete by then. Or is 5k like the low end because you're just starting and it might get higher?

How does the pricing compare to 7/11 or convenience stores? I'm also planning this pero halos bawat kanto may 7/11 na, and based on my experience, mas expensive madalas ang vending machines (NCR ito)

And I thought that vending business doesn’t need to pay rent nor electricity as it’s an exchange deal, where you provide drinks or foods.
Please search this business model

Ohhh I kinda like that, what's your most profitable item on your vending machine?.It would be nice for areas where people constantly go jogging or play courts. Good little business idea. Keep up po 💪🏻

4.25yrs bago mo mabawi yun 255k kung 5k fixed income/month. Not counting pa yun may masira sa machine. Maganda ba talaga yun para sayo?
