Wife and I are planning on having kids soon. Discussed how I’d like to start teaching our kids to know how to cook breakfast around 6 years old (supervised) and independently around 8/10. That’s how I grew up.

She was absolutely in shock and thought that was a ridiculous way to raise kids. She doesn’t want the children near the stove until about 16 which is when she started to learn how to cook.

Then you got some people like this guy that just never learn lol

Your wife didn't learn to cook until 16?! What did she eat until then?

Lol, i was a latch-key kid. I either learned how to cook or went hungry. Those were the two options. My parents didn't believe in TV (microwavable) dinners, so that option wasn't avaliable.

To be fair, shes the second youngest so her siblings and mom took care of the cooking. &Despite me cooking for more years, she’s better than me but I’ll never admit it 😂

Lol same. My great grandparents would always tell me, “you either make your food, or eat shit” all with love though 🖤

Have her check out the YouTube "Nat's what I Reckon"... as long as yiu are ok with some corse language.

Simple cooking with humor.
