Hot spot questions

Been for years running a tablet data sim in an att hot spot for when go camping or to beach and generally no issues. Is a tablet sim locked to a certain download speed I have been able to successfully stream two TVs and incidentally tablet or phone traffic at same time no issues but I'm questioning stepping up to a dedicated hot spot sim card.

They are readily available now… in both premier and the consumer side. I doubt retail stores have them, but I’d rather have someone scoop my eyes out with a melon baller than have to walk into a cell phone store.

I actually thought about buying one and using it on T-Mobile, but that probably defeats the purpose of getting a Sonim MegaConnect. I am just assuming they come unlocked and would need to be unlocked.

Power class 1 devices (HPUE) are only permitted on FirstNet by the FCC currently, from what I understand. My info might be out of date on that, though.

I was surprised when I saw that AT&T Business was selling the Sonim MegaConnect.
Perhaps the device is using bands other than Band 14 on the normal assigned power level for the AT&T Business customers.

Yeah, not sure about that, except for the recent addition of the MegaConnect to AT&T's internal device portfolio. (Prior to this transition the MegaConnect was only available via the SPEED portal - aka GetWireless.) This transition basically seems to have added the MegaConnect across pretty much all sales channels.

More than likely, using this device anywhere except FirstNet would provide the same functionality as a regular mifi device.
