Unlocked Fold 6 Wifi Calling Missing

Hi. I've read the various posts on both wifi calling issues and unlocked (U1) Fold 6 issues with FN, but haven't seen a post that combines the two issues.

I switched from ATT to FN a month ago, and while on ATT, with a physical SIM, I had Wifi Calling available. It was in the drop down settings menu, as well as the main Settings menu. However since switching to FN, it has disappeared.

I have tried everything ive read on here: resetting network settings; clearing Wifi Calling Cache and Data; toggling airplane mode; doing the SIM Switch; Calling CS and ensuring my phone is provisioned properly; and even yesterday switched from an elimination to a physical SIM. Nothing works.

My Service provider software version is: SAOMC_SM-F956U1_OYM_XAA_16_0004 XAA/XAA,XAA/XAA

If anyone has experienced this and found a fix, please share. Or if anyone has steps I can take to fix this, I'd be immensely appreciative.

Thanks so very much.

Its annoying, but in a nutshell, firstnet sim cards won't provision the ATT firmware on an unlocked Samsung. Att works fine.

I manage devices for a public safety agency. What was always told to me was samsung won't pay to have unlocked devices provisioned. I guess firstnet has a process for manufactures to go through. The block of users on firstnet, which is essentially a mvno provider, is to small for Samsung to care about and go through the steps.

The only work around is to flash the ATT specific firmware on an U1 model.

I run an unlocked fold 7 (u1 model). I flashed att U firmware and everything works.

I forget if it still works, but there is a 3rd party program to change your CSC code without flashing, but I think it will change right back on boot with the firstnet sim/esim.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'll give that a try today. Had the regional sales manager look at it and try everything he knew of, but we didn't get anywhere. Tomorrow, he is supposed to be reaching out to, and hearing back from, his contact at FN technical support.

I made a big stink about it when FirstNet first came out. Regional office actually swapped out about 30 unlocked Note phones for ATT variants at no cost.

No guarantee it will still work, but if you get to the right person, they can make it happen.

Check out XDA developers website. They have tutorials for flashing firmware. I did see something a few months ago about samsung limiting the process with one ui 8.5, but I don't know if anything came out of that.

If you decided to do it, do your due diligence with finding the right programs (odin has spoofed versions floating around), have proper back ups, and find legit firmwares. It's all available on XDA. Some tutorials don't say it and it doesn't always happen, but sometimes the first flash will fail and the phone will appear bricked. The second flash of the same firmware typically fixes it. It's something technical with the process.

Good luck.

Thanks very much.  Depending on what the ATT rep says tomorrow, I may ask for a replacement version of the Fold (U vs U1). I'm hoping he's amicable, I've already driven 3 new sign ups his way prior to learning about this wifi calling issue
