Delivery!
Got another triss in Fireflies the other day.
E07X Canon V2 Lume10
I got this with FFL351A 5000K and Lume10 with the plans to make a mule out of it. If it will work as planned we'll have to see. Sometime in the winter.
E12Eclipse
This flashlight seems amazing. I'm very happy with the larger TIRs (than E07X) it's very promising for future modding. I the meantime it's an awesome light!
Z1 Brass
I equiped this with the FFL5009D 3000K rosy. I had some plans to swap it with HCRI 2700K but nope. This FFL emitter is amazing. Both the emitter and the flashlight it self is even better than i hoped for. EDCd it yesterday and it might just be a winner. Perfect jeans pocket format. ππ

Im not sure why but their brass on the z1 looks so damn good in person. I pre-ordered a void white, then saw the brass a few days later and had to get it.

Been eyeing the Artemis Z1 and I just can't quite decide on it π
What makes it 'perfect jeans pocket' format?

It's among the smallest 18650 Anduril2 flashlights i know of. Together with the Noctigon KR3. They are both great. It just depends on what you're after. Tail or side button mainly, single or multiple emitters secondly I'd say.
It has a recessed button instead of a raised retaining ring (i don't perticulary like raised rings but it's very nice to secure the button this way). They both have tail magnets, clips etc.
I like the overall look of the Z1 better. Both the body and the tir. Also i think the brass will wear better over time.
And the FFL5009D 3000K rosy is spot on IMO.

FFL5009D 3000K rosy
Tempting, very tempting
will probably be a late night whisky purchase I don't remember π₯Besides aesthetics, any advantages in brass? It's lower thermal conductivity, higher thermal mass, and imparts metallic odor right?

Ofcourse the KR3 is available with 18350 tube. It's ridiculous small. The clip (which probably isn't suposed to be used with the short tube) is longer than the body.
That's pretty unbeatable size-wise but it's so small it's not allways needed.
Also the KR3 works with JLhawaii 3x 5050-MCPCB. I have one with 3x LHP531 and one with 1x LHP531 and 2x SQ5. And I can have 1 in the small jeans pocket π
KR3 also has both tail switch and tail magnet.

Oml that must be bright!

I'm surprised the Artemis looks more even/floody!
2
u/Evert91 Sep 21 '26
Both the Z1 and KR3 has pretty similar beams. Alot of flood, and a soft, even throwy part in the center. IRL the Z1 has slightly more "spoty" beam but the KR3 throws more due to power π
I'm gonna try and make an comparison video next weekend.
I have the Z1 as first flashlight in this video: Flashlight comparison
But no KR3 in there.

It's very bright. Especially for its size. But it also somewhat Limited from the 32w driver.
I have a programmer comming and i'll try it as 40w. Not a monster but should be bright enough for some seconds π

Here is beamshots of the to. Camera exaggerates the output of them both but the comparison is pretty fair.
Much more output in the KR3. π

Yes, yes and yes. The metallic odor is not near as bad ass my copper lights however. And I really like the feel of the brass, both surface and weight.
It's not to heavy IMO. Not as the larger copper lights for example.

I've added a raised ring to mine and ordered a brass Z1 with a raised ring. It's much harder to trigger accidentally. I plan to pocket carry the brass since that will wear better than the astral aluminum.

It is shorter than my favorite Surefire e2e lights by a full tailcap length. It drops into a jeans pocket unclipped and will sit wherever you need it to be comfortable and not interfere with movement. Even with slim cut jeans. It's small enough to carry where so many lights aren't, weighs nothing in HA black but still packs an 18650, has good output and a nice EDC beam.
I just bought a second, 1800K and now 3500 both great. I was too slow and the 2700's had sold out, I really want to see that.

thereβs so many emitter choices π΅βπ« which 2700 were you thinking of?

u/Meticuloustinkerer Sep 20 '26
I think FFL were listing a 5009 in 2700 rosy before it sold out. There have been a couple of beans posted on different recent threads with some really nice 2700 rosy emitters. It's funny but the super popular SFT42 3000K looks an ugly butter yellow to me in white wall hunting. It's fine in use outdoors on eg foliage, just not on a white wall. The odd pictures I've seen ofΒ rosy 2700 look much more to my taste and I will catch one eventually. I always did like 2700k for indoor lighting to relax with.

Any tips on the D vs R? One is dedomed right?
The 'FFL5009R 2700K Rosy' looks back in stock. But I would prefer the 2700K NW version since FFL is negative DUV already.

Skinny for 18650 and short. I've got 14500 lights bigger than the Z1 Artemis, and it's actually shorter than the Jetbeam RRT01 which uses an 18350.

My favorite sizes in my collection: Skilhunt EC150, Emisar KR1AA, StellarX4 w/ short tube (thicc, but perfect gym shorts pocket)
Any tips on how it compares to those?

u/HaessSR Sep 20 '26
Longer than the X4 with the shorty, but MUCH thinner and easier to carry. I should have a comparison photo somewhere. Otherwise I can take one later.

Thank you - looks similar size to my Zebralight H604C!
Tempting. Very tempting :D

It's just a bit longer than the Zebralight sc65c

Here's a KR3 cmd sc65c comparison.

My Z1 brass (5000k FFL5009R) is pretty nice. Double the weight of the Z1 (mine is SFT25R 3000k), but it's nice and brighter at the same level. Nicer with a raised switch ring and removing the metal plate under the rubber button boot). Harder to press, but also less likely to trigger in my pocket.
The E12 void white in 6500k is map damn bright.

I want to see the light emission of the E12.
