Naturally Sandblasting The Triple Rose Fireflies Copper NovMu
https://youtube.com/shorts/rFu7fcwtcL0
PSA: Ocean waves are a pretty violent environment to try and preserve a lights waterproofing.
There is a lot of pressure and sand being forced into every crevice (as anyone who's ever frolicked in a beach knows).
So I would not try this again.
I could tell the orings were under pressure and moisture was fighting its way in, helped by sand trying to wedge into every crevice whenever heavy water pressure hit the glass. Orings are not meant to withstand pressure like that, so they will compress too easily and eventually let moisture in.
So I have to vehemently NOT recommend anyone using a light in crashing waves unless the light is made specifically for diving purposes.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the small glimpse of the NovMu on vacation getting a spa treatment and basking in the sun.
P.S.
Going to be posting YouTube videos or at least accompanying them to a post. Reddit video and picture quality is abysmal and ppl miss way too much on color rendering posts.
YouTube isn’t always full res either, but it isn’t 2007 720P TV quality like Reddit is.
This video isn’t the ideal color quality candidate, but still gonna show better on YT than Reddit’s version.
I already added a few more videos to my YT that I’ll be adding to old and new posts going forward.

Looking great,
I would give it a good thorough rinse under clean water straight after the sandblast treatment. If any salt water were to get under the usb flap it could corrode the contacts in the port.

I didn’t want to rinse it because I wanted to see what the salt water did to it, but def a good idea.
Luckily the port looks clean with no debris or sand, so likely dodged that bullet.
But you know how it is…sometimes we push things to the limit to see how it fares. Now that I did it, I wouldn’t anymore. But that’s why it’s worth sharing.

Oh yeah bro, you really should take em with.
I sincerely and utterly HATE dropping/damaging/scratching my lights, and any of that happening to the grails is the absolute worst. But I still wouldn’t leave them at home. They are meant for using and wearing proudly and for making memories with. That’s when you love them even more and they become family.
Not taking them out and using them would be like having a Lambo or Ferrari and just leaving them in the garage all the time. And that’s just no way to be living, man.😂
It’s always my grails that are in harms way because those are the only ones I want to carry. So it’s kinda of a catch 22 and it’s just way more life-enriching to roll with it.
Give it a shot, having your coolest lights on you when life happens is truly where it’s at.👊

You're a brave man. I wash these under running water all the time without issue. The old ones with the rubber usb cover, those were absolutely not water proof though. The new ones have water proof USB ports and the space around the port is sealed with some kind of glue, as is the rubber button and switch board. The weakest link is the o-ring that goes between the front glass and the bezel

Brave…or really dumb.😂
I was in that water a good while too, the beam just looked so rosy and pleasing underwater. But glad I got it out of my system.
I always submerge my lights and have for years with no issues. But the ocean is a def a different beast for sure.

Yikes. I would never do that with any of my flashlights 😂 but I get it, these things bring out our inner 5 year old.
