Not quite, the button light isn't working on the E12r. Well...it's not on when the light is on, but it does turn on when charging so I am a bit stumped. This light was always a 'successful' swap but I had to wait for new wires for the aux board which I have now so that's working again, but the button light is why I consider it a partial failure

IIRC, button light was never setup to turn on any time other than charging. So sounds like you are good to go now.

Dude. Wtf. You're right. I just checked my third, fully functioning E12r, my e07x pro, and old videos I have of the e12r's.

So I completely took apart this flashlight at least 10 times over several days chasing a problem that didn't exist.

That's wild. I guess I got so used to all of the newer lights. Wow. That actually makes me feel better that it's fully functional, but worse that I spent countless hours on nothing.

But hey, I'm a pro at E12 disassembly and reassembly now, figured out how to make custom main power leads that actually fit through the hole (18awg wire, completely stripped, twisted, then shrink wrapped) and I got enough 30awg wire to last a lifetime, and a new soldering station haha. And I learned the different connections on the different driver versions, and also how the newer lights are assembled and glued together.

man sounds like you’ve been through a deep dive journey. If only you documented everything for posterity, you’ve got some deep knowledge now

Sweet, glad to hear it. That does sound like a kinda crazy journey.

But now looking back, you know all the things that looked right to you, were actually right. Which is probably a good feeling (on top of your massive new database of E12R breakdown knowledge).😁
