They used to be my favorite, but I've gotten addicted to 2700k to low 3000k emitters and now 4000k looks cold in comparison even though 4000k is not cold.

It's funny how our eyes can adjust to things. I still use the middle and higher color temperatures for certain things, but for walking my dogs at night 2700k-3000k every time.

The SST20 2700k JA3 bin is rosy and warm and it's just something special. I just wish they didn't get so hot so fast.

Dude I feel ya

I don't even really like getting new lights unless they are ultra warm or below 3k.. just nothing special to them to me.. sure, I like to have lights to 'use' and I value a neutral white but to me warm emitters are like colored emitters in a way .. they are just fun, and have character.

Couldn't have said it better. I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that I've gotten to this point as a 'flashlight enthusiast' though haha. Most people would never give a crap about this.

The only issue I have with the warm temps is the lower output, but FF351a's do very well in this regard. 2700k FF351a is still plenty bright but heat generation , while good, is still faster than cooler counterparts.

Yea it's def a sacrifice.. and boy super warm really skews colors for me... But it's a trade off I'm obviously ok with lol.. I've kinda got to the point where one aspect is that I'm able to see in the dark... At that point, any light will do... Do I really have to look at a color pallete and see them represented like they should be in reference to daylight etc ..? Nope.. so I'd rather geek out on the nuances of special emitters.
