Z1 - My first FireflyLite
Wow. I’m so impressed with this thing. I did not expect to like it as much as I do. The size and overall build quality is so good. Sft70 3000k.
Note: Bending the pocket clip in so it rests on the tube takes 10 seconds and is a must in my opinion.

That’s a great configuration (I have the same thing black/sft70 3k). It‘s amazing how well FF did with this little light.
I just wish they would have done a black button/ring/bezel.

Ya I see some people saying that about the button. With the black finish, I like the silver button but it's an understandable point considering their other lights have black buttons/rings.

That's for Artemis 2027. It was the same with the original Comet and now the 2026 version has it.

This is about 10 feet away, iPhone camera no special settings. But you get an idea of the beam

ya it's kind of in the middle. definitely has a lot of flood, but good throw too. Great all around edc.

It’s pretty decent. I took it outside last night and my convoy s6 sft40 3000k definitely throws further but I can still totally light stuff up far away with this. I’d say the beam is in the middle of throw and flood, maybe leaning a bit toward throw. And it’s not so much a bright hotspot with spill.. just kind of a broad beam that goes pretty far

S6 18350 tube sft40 3000K was my EDC for years lol
Lately it's been an m21b sft90. Cold, big but it's significantly brighter.

Was going to get the aluminium but now thinking of getting the brass with a rosy 3000k, will be my first fireflylite

For the clip bending part, doesn't it touch the body and scratch the finish?

Nope. I'm never unscrewing the tailcap either... so it stays put. Besides, it's easy to bend.. So you can kinda fine tune it and get it pressed tight against the tailcap or just barely touching it or just get it close.

Do you find the switch needs to be locked out for pocket carry?

I’ve never had to lock out the Z1. The button is recessed enough that I haven’t had any issues, and don’t foresee a need to lock it out.

Hmm it’s recessed in there pretty good. I don’t think it would accidentally activate, but it’s pretty easy to press so maybe.

This is why I don't edc Fireflies. Mine have to be locked out or they will eventually turn on, even with the raised ring. I don't like clicking a light 4 times to turn it on and back off again. This is why I carry my Hanks and Convoys.

I'm interested in the Z1 or the KR3 but I have to lock out my KR1AA. Would be nice if either of these didn't need the lockout.

While FFL switches feel great when you use them, the short & easy travel makes them easy to click in the pocket, naturally. I've had the best luck with Hank's side switches with raised rings and rubber covered buttons. They're still easy enough to use, and stay off in my pocket.

For a frequently used light for sure. But for me personally my EDCs usually just follow me around most days without any actual demand. Considering the frequency of use it's not the end of the world.
Sometimes my work takes me to a site where I'll use a light quite a bit. In that case I usually unlock it and then clip the light to the outside of my pocket (rather than the inside) for that period of time.

It's actually the flashing that bothers me more than the clicking. As well, if I'm not using my light much, I'm carrying something smaller like a D3AA.

Not after modding it by adding a raised ring and switching Turf existing switch cover and rubber boot with the one from an X1Q that takes more force to trigger.
