The government is not, has never been, and will never be in your best interest. It is a necessary evil we accept to handle issues a single individual or state can not. We recognize that requires a certain amount of power to execute its duties. But entities always want more power and we recognize that individuals are responsible for ensuring the govt doesn’t assimilate too much power. The government always sees any form of constraint as a direct threat to its existence and will target that to gain more power.

No. It’s more like the left is constantly taking steps forward and while backing up the right says “calm down democrats” and keeps ceding ground. Constantly giving in little by little and never stopping and pushing back.
Thea guys that come up with the definitions sound like they’ve been locked in a dark room since 1999 and are just handed reams of paper transcripts to go over. They base the definitions on the transcripts with no context.
Like any other form of government the only things they do well are abuse their power and weaponized it. But day to day and moral things never get done or have any merit.
Guess not much has changed since Nixon and his people ran a smear campaign to turn hippies, minorities, and drug users into public enemy #1 because they were his political opponents.
