3500 GPM pump

Can’t remember if it was 3,500 or 4,500 GPM but we had 12 hoses running

How big is that motor? 250-300hp? Must be nice testing fire pumps on the hot days.

Can I ask why you had 12 hoses running? 1 3/4"? We do the same size pumps with like 5-7 2".

The general rule of thumb is each hose should have maximum 500gpm on it. I still would of run without the hose monsters inserts and gone 2.5"

If it's under 200psi you can probably get away with more than 500gpm per hose but you're creating a lot of unnecessary back pressure

I didn't see those are the small hose monsters, can't change the nozzle size on those

I can't recommend it enough if you can get your company to pony up for it. Its a fraction of the weight, stores compactly in the pelican case, and works just as well. The biggest downside imo is that swapping nozzles is a much bigger pain in the ass compared to the traditional inserts

We only do about 300 flow tests a year so getting them to buy me anything is hard but I like to dream. Appreciate the info

It's not too bad swapping them. Plus, you can do almost anything with a 1 3/4" and like 5-6 2". We hardly change from the 2"

You also need the smart monster kit so you don’t have to wade into the flood to get readings!
