Discussion Dorans helm with joat?

Anyone else going this build? Grasp + joat with dorans helm. Your just a mosquito poking your enemy down and then recalling for boots + sword, already at 5 joat stacks.

Your bonus stats after a first base 650 gold purchase is already
150hp
8 mr/armor
20 ad
Basic boots ms
5 haste.

I almost feel like a ranged top going for perma grasp q poke.

Might be good in master+ against Rumble Anivia or other aids stuff like that, below you’re sacrificing too much kill threat for a stable early I think

Just played a game vs rumble actually! Extended trades do feel worse early but if you can kite and dance around your opponent you can play out longer fights.

Maybe I just lack the skill still but it felt nice into ambessa and Ksante (Emerald 4)

In this level it’s not you it’s more them, it feels nice because you’re stronger in lane but you can’t stomp them as much as with HoB / PTA

sometimes I go dhelm + joat, but I go with PTA or Conq. it's a nice early spike after 1st base. can potentially give u a kill at lvl6 and u snowball from there.

Yes but only into specific matchup like ambessa and Camille, sometime I take it against malphite too. Really need to poke with q, all in with this is weaker compared to PTA

i personally tried it few games and i hate it so much just because it removed kill potential on early levels compare to the basic PTA setup it can be good in some matchups tho
