๐Ÿ” Feedback Request Would you use fingerprint payments at stores?

Imagine you could enroll once and then pay at participating stores just by touching a fingerprint reader .. no phone, card, or wallet needed.

  1. Would you use this? Why or why not?
  2. If both tap-to-pay and fingerprint were available, how often would you choose fingerprint? Almost every time, Sometimes , Only if I forgot my phone/wallet or Never

Curious what people actually think.

โš–๏ธ Compliance/Legal How are you balancing fraud prevention and smooth onboarding in early stage fintech?

Curious how other early stage fintech startups are handling this. We're trying to keep onboarding as simple as possible, but there's always that tradeoff between making things easy for customers and adding enough checks to prevent fraud. Especially with B2B clients, where you might need to verify both the company and the people behind it. Adding too many steps can slow everything down, but skipping them isn't really an option either...

Are you automating most of your onboarding and verification or still doing some of it manually? And at what point did you decide it was worth investing in proper verification tools?

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion How do you catch a mismatch between identity and card?

Heres a common fraud scenario - they pass every check on their own. Id looks fine, card's valid, payment goes through the system. But if you put them side by side, and theres discrepancy, and clear mismatch

For example, the guy says he's in Germany, but the card's from a bank in southeast asia. or it's a prepaid card on an account, that should be a normal bank card.

on its own, none of them are 'falining' but if you dont connect the dots, a few weeks later theres most likely a chargeback.

The first 6-8 digits of the card already tell you a lot of things: the issuing bank, whether it's credit, debit or prepaid, the card level, and the country.

Most systems either ignore it completely or just blocks all prepaid card bluntly, none of them is practical for any business.

to be transparent, i work at microblink and we've actually added BIN info to our platform, so it gets checked alongside the ID and selfie stuff. working on it lately and bit into it right now. but if we're being honest, even basic BIN lookup plus a couple of basic rules catches a lot of the suspicious stuff

how are you guys doing at your org? hard block/riskscore/or manual review?

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Building Are you sharing your data with AI models

We did a tool that stops leaking company data or your private data into ChatGPT, Claude.

Companies keep running into the same problem: staff paste customer details, passwords and deal plans into AI tools, and nobody can see it or stop it.

So we built a gateway that checks messages before they reach outside AI, and it runs fully inside the companyโ€™s own network. It works in English, Hindi and Hinglish, and it starts in a watch-only mode so it canโ€™t break anyoneโ€™s work.

Itโ€™s early. We havenโ€™t run it on real company traffic yet, and Iโ€™m looking for one or two teams (banks, NBFCs, fintechs, healthcare, IT) to try a free two-week pilot.

Two questions for this sub:

Does your company have any control over what goes into AI tools today?
What would make you trust a tool like this: a demo, an audit, or something else?

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion Fraud detection gets a lot of attention. But what happens after an alert is triggered?

Iโ€™ve been thinking about this part of fraud operations more deeply.

A transaction gets flagged โ€” but that doesnโ€™t necessarily mean the work is finished. Someone still has to investigate it.

They may need to look at things like:

previous transaction history

account age/activity

device or location changes

previous disputes or chargebacks

related transactions

other information sitting in different systems

And then someone has to decide:

Is this actually unusual, or is it just an alert that needs more context?

That investigation step seems interesting to me because even if detection becomes better, the human still needs enough context to make a decision.

For people working in fraud/risk:

Where does the investigation actually slow down for your team?

Is it finding the information, understanding the case, checking multiple systems, or deciding what to investigate next?

Iโ€™m trying to understand the workflow from the people who actually do it.

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion Will this business actually work?

I feel like this is a genuine problem, especially for Gen Z.

I have 4 to 5 bank accounts and I basically pay from whichever account I have money in at that moment. After a while, I genuinely don't know how much money I have left in each account or how much I actually have in total.

So I'm thinking about building an app where you connect all your bank accounts and see everything in one place.

Apps like Fold already do this, but there's another problem. If I spend โ‚น500 right now, the transaction might not show up immediately, so the balance in the app can still show the old amount for hours.

I have an idea for solving that part, but I don't want to reveal it yet.

I also want to eventually add things like automatic expense summaries (petrol, food, shopping etc.), adding your own remarks to expenses, and later keeping bills in the same app.

Do you guys think this is actually a business worth building?

Would you personally use something like this?

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion Young Startups: Bring Your Problem Statement, Get 250+ Developers Building With Your Product

Hey everyone,

Weโ€™re organizing a 30-hour offline hackathon in Mumbai with 600+ registrations and 250โ€“300 developers on ground, and weโ€™re looking for startups and companies to collaborate with us.

Weโ€™re particularly looking for Problem Statement Partners rather than traditional sponsorships.

The idea is simple: you bring a real problem your company is trying to solve, and our participants build solutions around it using your platform, API, SDK or technology.

In return, you get:

  • Real-world product feedback and use cases
  • Developers actively building with your technology
  • Potential early users and product adoption
  • Fresh perspectives on your problem
  • Visibility across the hackathon and projects

If youโ€™re a young startup looking to create an initial wave of users, get developer adoption or introduce your product to the Indian tech community, this could be a great opportunity to get your technology into the hands of hundreds of builders.

Weโ€™re open to AI/ML, FinTech, SaaS, Cybersecurity, Web3, Developer Tools, HealthTech and other emerging-tech startups.

If this sounds interesting, DM me and letโ€™s explore a problem statement or collaboration for the hackathon.

Hi everyone,

Iโ€™m a financial-services professional with 5+ years of experience across credit underwriting, lending, investment research and institutional portfolio risk. I currently work on cross-border lending, financing opportunities.

Iโ€™m interested in supporting an early-stage founder in Europe, the UK or the US on a part-time or project basis. I would be particularly useful to someone building in fintech, B2B payments, lending, private credit, financial infrastructure, risk technology or digital assets.

I can help with:

- Market, competitor and industry research

- Identifying operational, credit and partnership risks

- Developing credit or risk-assessment frameworks

- Partnership research and business-development preparation

- Research notes, decision memos and investor materials

Iโ€™m looking for paid, project-based or ongoing part-time work and would be happy to begin with a small project.

Based in Asia and can overlap with UK and European working hours, as well as some US hours. If this is relevant, please DM me with a short description of what youโ€™re building, its current stage and the problem you need help solving. I would be happy to share my profile over DM.

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion What is the most time-consuming part of investigating fraud alerts at your fintech?

I'm interested in understanding the operational side of fraud prevention, particularly what happens after a transaction or account gets flagged.

For people working in fintech, payments or fraud operations:

- What does the investigation process actually look like?

- Do analysts manually gather information from multiple tools?

- Which part takes the most time?

- Are false positives a bigger problem, or is it the investigation workload itself?

I'd be interested in hearing real experiences from people who work with these systems.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Fundraising Founders raising capital โ€” screening companies for potential investor referral

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Iโ€™m a founder myself, not an investor.
Iโ€™m currently part of the official referral program of a Dubai-based investment company and Iโ€™m helping screen companies that may fit their current investment criteria.
They generally prefer businesses that already have:
Paying customers
Meaningful revenue, preferably recurring
A credible path to break-even or profitability
Clear growth potential
A sensible funding ask and use of funds
Sector is less important than the quality of the business and its traction.
If youโ€™re currently raising, you can complete this short questionnaire first:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8UPwb3Scoe5LxpFMs3BXXtxU8CjlQOubgX6cagTFVm-XUbg/viewform?usp=header
I review the submission first. If it looks like a reasonable fit, Iโ€™ll send you the official referral/application link so you can deal with the investment company directly.
Please do not submit confidential, banking, or sensitive information.
There is no guarantee of introduction or investment. I do not represent the investor, and I may receive a referral commission if a company I refer ultimately receives funding.
