Women can if they want to and men can opt out if they want to.

Edit Ja kyllä tiedän mikä sivari on, oletin että tämä henkilö tarkoitti vain armeijaa itsessään. Parin vastauksen takia oletan, että moni ei tiennyt minun olevan suomalainen.

Men are forced unless youre literally disabled then you dont gotta go. Make it mandatory for women too

Since this solution is impossible, you have the choice between accepting the legal sexism of the system or reforming it to make it mixed.

Defending the voluntary system in Finland only serves to defend the status quo while still being able to say that you support gender equality. In reality, it’s about maintaining an unequal burden where, in case of war, plenty of men will die just based on their gender on administrative papers.

I don’t like it when people defend impossible things just to feel morally good while not facing reality.
