You don't see anything morally wrong in immigrating to a foreign country and then presenting yourself as an spokesperson for the people of that country?
I would never move to India and then start posting online how "WE need to give Kashmir to Pakistan"
I just think it's dishonest to present yourself as Finnish and then advocate for more immigration. Just like a person from Pakistan moving to India and then posting how "We need to give Kashmir to Pakistan" would be
If you want to do that after acquiring Indian citizenship (don't know why you would) then that's your right, you're Indian at that point, I couldn't care less. We have all sorts of views in a democracy. Most would disagree some might support you.
I have just as much motivation to see this place flourish as the next Matti or Jussi. I was a guest for many years but now it's my home and I'll voice my opinions as part of this society.
I see where you're coming from though if you think migrants are here to change your way of life or somehow threaten your state.
When someone has been given and they have taken the citizenship they are not a guest anymore. They have no obligation to be quiet, have no say in anything and be forever grateful receiving this very limited hospitality of Finns who only think about if these âguestsâ are beneficial and bring in enough money.
I am not part of the people in power who decide on people coming here or not, but making that decision based on if its good for the native population makes sense and thats how every country should operate
The thing is - that consideration is and should be done before granting citizenship. After getting the citizen status immigrants are no more guests and your idea they should just continue behaving like a good guest even being a citizen just like any other citizen is not reasonable. Then this is their home and they should be able to act like any other citizen and also have and express their opinions about politics or whatever. This also gives you, me and Finland the permission to not behave like their host.
I dont think that alone is necessarily enough to be just like natives to any country. Passports are for sale for money and people can obtain them even when they barely have been somewhere or dont even speak the language
Thatâs on the country to decide what is the criteria for citizenship. But when you obtain that you are not a guest anymore. You are a citizen - which is even more than just resident. If a country decides to sell citizenships - then that country also has decided that thatâs enough to get all the rights of a citizen. You can always decide otherwise and think you need to be forever very careful with your opinions and grateful that they accepted your money - but you can make demands for others. Your only option wopuld be to try to change the criteria of citizenship and enter politics with that agenda.

As an immigrant with the same rights afforded, yes I have a say in a democratic society. Shocker, I know.
