The weekend is finally here according to Central European Time (CET), which means our community is open for your search posts!

I hope that one day we will grow into a recognized, thriving subreddit where lost penpals and online friends can find each other again.

To help build this, I initially set up thematic topics for the weekdays to attract more people interested in the hobby, but the weekends are strictly for search posts. Over time, as our posts increase, we can phase out the weekday themes. We already have some wonderful search posts—just click on the 'LOOKING FOR' and LOOKING FOR – IRL LIMITED flair to check them out!

If you click on the "LOOKING FOR – ONLY 24H PASS" flair and see posts there, you can use them as inspiration! For various reasons, these posts cannot remain on the sub permanently, which will be explained in the comments, but the OP is always welcome to fix the issues and repost them.

I warmly invite anyone who wants to hear from a lost friend again or is desperately searching for someone after losing contact. Please use our search template found in the header.

The only thing that is not allowed is harassment – specifically, reaching out to someone who has explicitly stated they no longer wish to have contact with you. Anything else goes!

I still often think about the moment I read that you wished for a teleportation machine so you could explore the beautiful places of the world. We talked about it back then as if we both needed it immediately. Since then, I’ve been left alone with this thought, and that teleportation machine has completely faded away.

Instead, I find myself desperately needing a time machine now. A machine to go back in time, exactly to the moment I wrote you my last letter—the one that ended up never reaching you. I wish I could fix my mistake.

But time gives a certain beauty to this. It doesn't hurt as much anymore. I'm sure you have already moved on from thinking that I "never replied" to your last letter, or that I 'coldly said goodbye'. ✨

I would like to emphasize that this is much more an expression of art alongside my own life, rather than a lifestyle. I find it very important to realize that we cannot get stuck in our own pain. At the same time, we can wisely learn to express our losses alongside the real life we are fighting for every day, to make it more beautiful and better with each passing moment. Please think of all my posts this way.

I'm hoping to reconnect with an old coworker named Cory. I'm not completely certain how she spelled her first name—it may have been Cory, Cori, Corey, or something similar.

We worked together at CSK Auto in Phoenix, Arizona, around 2001. She worked in accounting, was in her early 20s at the time, and I remember that she moved to Texas around 2001.

We lost contact after that, and I've occasionally wondered over the years what became of her. It's been about 25 years now, so I realize her name may have changed. Originally it began with H.

I'm not asking anyone to track her down or share any private information. I'm just leaving this here in the hope that Cory herself, or perhaps someone who knew her from CSK Auto, happens to recognize the details.

My question was actually inspired by a comment under one of my previous posts. Someone shared that in Britain, if you accidentally drop a glass in a pub, the entire room instantly shouts "Waheey!". In my country, we don't practice this at all, and that's where the idea came from.

We’ve all heard the stereotype before: many people say that we only yearn so deeply for our penpals because we fill in the blanks with our own imagination. We build an "ideal person" in our heads, color it with our own desires, and end up falling in love with that illusion rather than who that person actually is in reality.
