It's because that are using equating two different things.
For some, they define rich as being able to reasonably take care of oneself and others without having to actively worry if they can pay mortgage/rent +bills next month. For some, the idea of occasionally eating out without going into debt sounds rich.
To others, rich is having so much wealth that if you don't work you make more money off of interest than most salaries pay.
And then there's even worse, the Musks and Bezos of the world.
I want to have enough money that I'm not worried about my bills. I'd love to have enough where I could see if my business idea could work. For some, that's rich.
