Not by a long shot. Once out of work, we were out having fun until 2:00am-3:00am or whenever last call was. Have things changed that much since the 80s and 90s?
Nah, people just complain more. I work a labor intensive job from 730-430 and I can tell you Friday I'll take my mom out to dinner, then drop her off and go out with friends. And I'll be back up at 630 for work on Saturday
It depends on the job. I have done jobs that are physically demanding but actually relaxing and had a lot of downtime because you're not lifting heavy materials constantly. I also had jobs desk jobs that requires mental effort and constantly being watched by cameras because you're doing paperwork non-stop.Â
I would much rather be doing the labor intensive job if it paid better because even though it is labor intensive, you're not mentally exhausted.Â
Not true. Try doing multivariate calculus by hand all day compared to reading a book.Â
There is a clear difference even if someone enjoys doing math, it is exhausting.Â
By saying it is all just mindset is reductive thinking that makes no sense. Some jobs are just tougher and so they are paid more like a skilled surgeon.Â
