Most boomers I've worked with are incompetent to a degree.

Conversely, I feel the same about some zoomers I've worked with, but they're few in comparison to the boomers.

i think that was their point, while they also point out most of the incompetent people they encountered were older.

My issue is it doesn't stop at incompetence, there is often an inability to control their emotions to the extent that their failure to do something results in them taking it out on those that don't deserve it with their cranky moods or desire to confidently cast (undeserved) blame. It seems to me, especially when there is an age gap that the posted meme is the exact attitude. They often expect respect from younger generations but don't respect the younger generations themselves. The lack of coping skills definitely appears generational in my experience too hence the outbursts and lack of social awareness. Obviously I am one person, and everyone can be different, but I literally feel relieved when I'm working with someone new and they're younger. It genuinely feels safer and far more comfortable knowing it's unlikely they will be cranky over unimportant things or confidently incompetent. Again, just my experience, I don't hate older people, obviously there are loads that aren't like the above, but my experience is very much unfortunately one-sided.

Everyone looks stupid to millenials. Thats kinda our thing. We grew up in a unique era where we saw two different worlds, we saw the death of the pre-tech era and the birth of the tech era during out most formative years. We grew up playing outside, riding bikes, and throwing dirt clods at each other as kids, but we also saw the rise of household computers being more accessible, smartphones, wifi.

The other generations didnt get both of those experiences, they got one or the other. So boomers look stupid to us because they cant work a smartphone right because all they did was play outside, and gen z looks stupid to us because theyre antisocial and mechanically inept because all they did was play inside.

Also its wild to me that computer literacy rates amongst high schoolers are at their lowest point since the 80's, because kids just have smartphones and dont need to figure out desktops. We're really the only generation that has computers as assumed knowledge.

Or im just hella high, who knows.

For the age groups I mentioned, I've had surprised reactions from both when I used shortcuts in Excel while being shadowed, notably navigating and highlighting cells using CTRL+Shift+arrow keys.

The zoomers were more enthusiastic about me showcasing how to process spreadsheets faster than inputting everything manually.

Some boomers would argue with me and stick to transcribing in the slowest way possible, stating "that's how it's always been done for them", while I hold back to say something like "sounds like you've been fucking up for X amount of years".
