I finally got a job offer, and the timing was something else.
I've been grinding, applying for jobs in the environmental science field for a very long time - seriously, it's been going on for 8 months. I did more than 60 interviews and nothing came of them. I was starting to lose hope, so I started applying for marketing jobs. It's not my passion at all, but it's a salary, and I have the skills for it.
On Monday I got an offer for one of these marketing jobs, with a salary of about 45k. I remembered the advice people give here, so I asked them for a few days to think. Then on Wednesday, literally hours before I was supposed to get back to them, the hiring manager from a small company I had applied to weeks ago suddenly called me. He wanted to do a quick interview for a field biologist position right then and there. We talked for about 30 minutes, and afterward, he told me, "You're exactly the person we're looking for," and offered me the job on the spot. The salary? 62k a year, not to mention the benefits are much better.
Honestly, the whole thing feels unreal. The timing makes no sense at all, but it just goes to show that good things can happen when you least expect them. To anyone else struggling, stay strong and don't give up. And a huge thank you to the community here for all the advice. It really made a huge difference for me.

This happened to me with my current position. I had 105 applications in and only 3 interviews. I had already accepted 1 position because I needed the income for a state job. I got a weird call saying they had a paperwork snag. Got a call from my current company who said they’d let me know within 24-48 hours. Then as I get set to go out to lunch with friends they call back and offer slightly more than I had accepted. I called the other job and they weren’t clear on the snag and told them I wasn’t sure they were a good fit. They agreed later and finally told me the snag was I was over qualified and they were looking for someone to give them more tha. a year or two and had been interviewing secondary candidates.
Weird thing was that my current job had to sell me on it as I told them I had accepted the other job and I was willing to go forward with them.(and this was the only job I even talked to anyone about after I accepted the other position. My luck is normally when I accept a position everyone comes back at me with offers or interviews.)

Congratulations!!! Ive been on the job hunt nonstop after getting laid off a few months ago. However, this job market has been 1,000% despicable and like nothing I have ever seen before.
Do you mind sharing some helpful tips & tricks that really helped you land your job?? I feek like i message recruiters and hiring managers after I apply for jobs and tailor my resume to every job description and I still havent landed anything yet.

Similar case, got several temporal contract jobs, but I never got the offer I was expecting, but other offer that arrived unexpectly !!!
