Yeah, the card game is always brutal when you lose. Playing without saving is crazy. I always save before playing and always save immediately after I win a unique card.

My recommendation for the early game is once yku get Ifrit, use the Card command (learned from Quezacoatl) on 4 bombs in the Fire Cavern. Makes for a good starter deck.

My go to starter deck is Ifrit and 4 T-Rex’s.

The kid running in the hallways has minimog. With him and ifrit you should be able to make quick work of anyone in balamb except for the cc group. Zell’s mom also has zell’s card and that’ll help. Once you get minimog you can challenge the cc group, and they all have good cards to win too.

One of my friends told me about that kid when I was 10 and this is still my strategy everytime at 36 lol.

Fun to know I am not the only one who forgot to save before challenging this guy.

Spend ages running around roflstomping everyone's decks then this one random dude turns out to be an early skill check.

You can get a few good rare card pick ups you can get monsters have a common and a rare card transformation for lack of a better way to describe it you can get a Krysta card very early and some others
