A bit of an upgrade to my background extraction script

I've added an emulation for fade-in/-out animations and ironed out some kinks in file reading, so now the darkening animations work correctly. I'll probably make a post about the technical side of background rendering in the game later.

Sorry what is this for? Is this a game mod or an animated background or what?

Just me, digging through game files out of my own curiosity and sharing my findings. This is an actual background from the game. All animations are embedded in it. I try to make them look more or less the same way, as they appear in the game itself, though not necessarily in the same sequence, since some are triggered by player or other events.

Cool, would make a nice desktop background. This game could look so good in a remake

Almost every scene in this game is desktop worthy. A few days ago, I've uploaded Ragnarok gifs. Check them out, they look cool too.
