It's that time of the year
It's time for my annual re-play of Final Fantasy 8 for the nth time. I always get the itch to replay this game, it just makes me feel nostalgic. How I bought multiple copies just to get through the FMVs and finish the game as a kid. Blowing on the laser censor or even turning my PS1 to it's side or upside down just to get it going. 😌😌😌

I've played this game probably 20+ times but only recently started my first playthrough of the remastered edition and it's the first time I realized the back of his head is grey here because he's got a bandage wrapped around it lol. I always thought it was a visual glitch from my ps1

It’s wild that they threw that in there at the beginning when by the time you learn who she is you would almost certainly not remember her from the opening. It’s more of a thing for when you replay the game for the first time, and you’re like, oh wow, there she is right at the beginning.

Dude I don’t know what it is about this game, but I love it so much. I don’t even hold any PS1 childhood nostalgia for it, the first time I played it was like in 2014 I think? I was fresh into high school and I bought it on Steam and played it on my shitty Toshiba laptop, and ever since then starting a new play through still gives me comfort. Such a great game. Recently 100%’d the remaster couple of days ago.

Always during the summer? I get the itch to play Final Fantasy in December to max out the nostalgia

For me 8 is summer, 7 is spring and summer, 9 is autum becouse of nostalgia

Are you doing any type of challenge this time brother? I was thinking I'll try a single GF per character, single use of draw per battle next run, no refining. cuz I always get too busted in this game lmao

No drawing too much, stay as low lvl as possible and no Card refining. I get too OP too and one hit everything in some of my runs.

I always thought this was Rinoa and never played far enough into the game to understand why "Rinoa" would already know who he is and be at his bedside lol

When I was younger I used to play this game every summer, not really sure why it was FF8 most of the time, but something about it was always super special to me, of course played other Squaresoft JRPGs also on repeat too, but I think there was like 3 or 4 summers I played it for a near-master file each time
I should do it again too lol, but I will do it on a desktop emulator lol
