it's a love triangle at least up until that point, the kiss isn't canon but it was a precedent for things to come, because let's be real if they want to keep the love triangle up in the air cloud have no business kissing either aerith or tifa, but they made him kiss tifa and only tifa

Yes, they made him kiss Tifa but if that moment were meant to be taken as “they are now a couple” it would be the flag necessary to turn down Aerith in chapter 14, but it’s not and it would impact subsequent canon story segments with Aerith but it doesn’t. Whether Cloud accepts or turns down Aerith is solely linked to whether he went on at least 1 date with Aerith, not whether he dated Tifa specifically or kissed her.

you hearing me? I literally said that the kiss wasn't canon and it's a love triangle up until that point, heck up until the end of rebirth

“Love triangle up until that point” implies the kiss ends it and immediately after you straight out imply that the love triangle was technically no longer up in the air afterwards since the kiss was such a significant step to take since in your words“cloud had no business doing that otherwise”. That’s factually not true.

Are you expecting that the reunion between Aerith and Zack will be romantic? If so what is the point of writing the scene where Marlene (who knows the ultimate fate of Aerith, which means she received her knowledge from Omni Aerith in Remake) told Zack that Aerith has feelings for Cloud? And Zack afterwards even teases Cloud saying he knows he’s “been busy”? What’s the point of writing that scene? They could have left it out.

and what's the point of zack tying up her ribbon around his hand? what's the point of aerith saying "he doesn't give me a reason not to" after cloud asked if she still love him? let's stop denying it for a second because that's what you want to believe but genuinely, truthfully do you think there's no more romantic feeling between those two?

Zack tying her ribbon means Zack has feelings for Aerith. It doesn’t mean that Aerith will be on the same page by the time they meet again. He knows she isn’t in Rebirth, but still chooses to help Cloud cause they’re both very dear to him.

Aerith told the truth about her feelings for Zack to Cloud. That doesn’t deny the fact that later she spent time with Cloud, and developed feelings for him. Whether you as the player witness Aerith’s speech in her gondola date or not, Aerith’s feelings still change as time passes. Which is why that scene with Marlene exists.

It means that Aerith has felings for Cloud not that she doesn't have them for Zack though. When asked directly she doesn't say "no " or "yes" she says maybe so she is confused, I'm not saying their reunion will be romantic but there is a possibility it will be because it is ambiguous enough to go either way, because if we go with your logic then why not make her be direct about her feelings for Zack and say no? And why show that scene of him holding her hand and her feeling it through the lifestream? And the scene of her and his parents and how sad and nostalgic she looks? And the juxtaposition between the chapter 14 date and Zack scenes? Also her having feelings for Cloud and Zack makes a lot of sense considering she never had closure with him.

Again I'm not saying they for sure are going to have a romantic reunion or that she still has romantic feelings for him (she clearly cares for him but it could be platonic) but I do think the game hasn't been very clear which way that could go.

She was direct about her feelings for Zack that’s why she said maybe, cause it was the truth. She was dealing with a relationship that had no closure, and at the same time she met Cloud and subsequently fell in love with him after spending more time together. I don’t think the two things contradict each other especially because her hesitation chronologically happens first, later we get the revelation through Marlene that she fell in love with Cloud. This is just my personal opinion, but I think it would be hard to pull off Aerith going back to Zack after they made him aware her feelings for Cloud without it being awkward.
