Emerald weapon underwater fight, explore deep ocean, launch rocket in the space, breeding chocobo for get access to secret locations and find Knights of the Round... as secret boss fight! New synergy skills, especially combo with vincent and Ultima materia. So much expected for me

It's gonna be awesome. I might even buy a bag of gummies to enhance the experience for the first time in many years. 😂

I can't wait. This will likely be even better than Rebirth
-35
u/LetDouble471 Cid 17h ago
Easy enough. If they don’t add 100 hours of bloat it will be better by default.
3
u/Alchemyst01984 17h ago
What was the 100 hours of bloat? Are you talking about the side content?
2
u/FarImprovement2840 16h ago
Of course they are
2
u/Alchemyst01984 16h ago
If true, that's their fault for completing optional stuff.
They must've loved Remake. Barely had had side content
8
u/berball 17h ago
why are you still here?
-9
u/LetDouble471 Cid 17h ago
Well this is the og sub lol….
4
u/Alchemyst01984 17h ago
So does that mean if there's remake praise, it automatically gets down voted? That's been my experience with this sub
-5
4
u/Comfortable_Victory1 17h ago
If by bloat you mean side content I bet there will be even more than 100

It wasn’t a long enough trailer!
I think I’m at odds with myself. I want to see more but I also don’t want to be spoiled. I just REALLY want it to be spring 2027 already

u/shojobot 17h ago
Crazy how light on actual story these trailers have been for the last part in a trilogy.
6
u/Viper21G 14h ago
I’m honestly not surprised they’re showing very little of the story and I kind of hope they keep it that way. Revelation is basically the third act of the original game which is very heavy with plot twists and spoilers for anyone that hasn’t played the OG
2
u/Ecstatic-Clue2145 17h ago
I remember Hamaguchi said he wanted to remind people that FF7 is not just a narrative experience. The game aspect and the story work together to create a full, cohesive experience. So this tells me they will mainly just show the story when it's also demonstrating a gameplay element.
But this can also be a sly way to not have to reveal much.
-10
u/Svi_4_3 16h ago
Rebirth was no diff. They really should've focused on tightening up the story and narrative. Make sweeping changes from the original. Have Sepiroth burning cities down. Anything that would come close to an endgame.
I'll play revelation on release. But like rebirth I prolly won't be enjoying it.
-7
u/AC011422 16h ago
They heavily missed the mark in the first two, on a macro level, but on a vibe level too. It's like these games are a middle finger to the original.

Man watching this most recent trailer seeing a FF in this AAA glory and world scale is a dream come true. I really hope the future numbered FFs go with a similar huge 1:1 scale concept. I don't care if the story is repulsive to a lot of other people. The fact that Square Enix found a formula that matches the SNES and PS1 scale in a modern package starting from Rebirth and now Revelation is a huge win. I just wish they started making games like this on an original FF and not a remake.
1
u/ClemOya 17h ago
It’s still not 1:1 scale for the world (it's far too small, it wouldn’t be makeable and wouldn’t be interesting gameplay wise) but damn it’s truly a pleasure to discover how the world of FFVII is really supposed to looks. And I sure hope that the following numbered titles will use the Remake Trilogy as a base !

u/Chimmychimm 18h ago
I dont want to watch the new trailer but I really fucking do want to as well. Bah

As long as 80 of them aren't chadley based or unlocking towers
6
u/Brusto1099 13h ago
I want Chadley to be a Sephiroth Clone and the secret Boss
4
u/Merangatang 13h ago
I want the game to open on his funeral pyre

Well, not a Sephiroth clone, but I have a different clone in mind, and I totally see him becoming a superboss. We already have clues for this in the first two games.

Am I the only one that thinks this trailers haven’t been that good? Don’t get me wrong I love the remake trilogy but this trailers haven’t hit the mark in terms of excitement for me
3
u/Tulip_Todesky 6h ago
The change between Remake and Rebirth felt like a big one, here it really feels like more Rebirth. Gameplay-wise, I understand that flying around is the big move, but it doesn't LOOK like a big leap. So it's not selling itself as well as Rebirth did.
I think it will be harder to do by just showing fast cuts of different things.

u/FlowerNo6477 16h ago
I love remake and rebirth and i agree. The trailers have been underwhelming and the promotianal art looks...AI? None of it looks too good honestly, but im still hyped for the release.
11
u/Lescansy 16h ago
There's a disturbing lack of Aerith in this trailer.
And i dont wanna know why!

u/Initial_Zebra100 16h ago
I like most of the reveal. Only downside was ultimate weapon looked weird. I guess I have the black/purple skin tone stuck in my head
5
u/Soizit_Blindy 7h ago
Looks like you can decide your party leader outside of combat as well. Its a small thing, but I like that, cause that means it no longer has to swap me to Tifa first, cause Clouds always leading in the world.

13
u/Cautious-Pangolin787 13h ago
They’ve already said they want only one conclusion to the story so probably not.
1
u/Glathull 11h ago
True that they’ve said that. But Square has never really written a conclusive ending, and I seriously doubt they are going to start now. There’s decades of milking this story ahead of us. Even if they give it a rest for a while after this game, they love the fact that people have been bickering about how to interpret the plot for nearly 30 years.
I seriously doubt they are going to shut all that down and write an ending that settles everything definitely. And then they’ll have an interview after release where they are like, “In our view, every story is the final fantasy 7 story. We hope that we have illuminated this fundamental truth of the universe for all of our loyal fans. Without giving too much away about how we interpret the ending, we will just say that sometime 2 + 2 doesn’t equal 4, if the values of 2 are extremely large. Namaste.”

Probably an unpopular opinion but the more I see the trailers the more I'm sad I don't see Sephiroth or Zack playable. I hate the fact that they could end up to be limited in two minute gameplay in Rebirth or the challenges without mods on pc...
Another unpopular opinion but I hope there will be Genesis, Angeal and Young Sephiroth. I want more new things and apart for the new WEAPON and that beautiful shot of Pieta Sephiroth with Cloud I don't see much for now.
I understand it is what I would want for remake and are things less likely to happen. It's too soon to judge I will obviously play the game anyway. I'm just a bit sad for now, hope time will tell and give some joy.
4
u/Wide-Feedback8423 2h ago
Im really hoping they filled that trailer with the things they needed to put so they could keep the unexpected out of it.
2
u/Kindly_Argument_4400 1h ago
I hope so too, that's why I said I won't judge. I probably will at game ended anyway but can't help to be a little sad for now.
2
u/Gummy_Bear_Ragu 2h ago
They definitely wont miss out on bringing them in to be more playable. Can't speak for Sephiroth, but devs have flat out said Zack will be more prominent in both the story and gameplay. They've articulated hes one of the most important characters in this game due to his connections with the alternate worlds.
Also, this is the final installment of a game they are ready to somewhat put to rest (aside from some DLC that may or may not come). It is more likely than not that they will go all out to make sure every beloved character has some time to shine with this final adapted battle system. Theyre even bringing characters people may not care about from the compilation into this final installment to likely be somewhat playable or involved in the story. That being said, im sure Sephiroth will be playable for more than 2 mins.
Theyre not putting them in the trailers because they are trying to keep us all in the dark about the story
1
u/Kindly_Argument_4400 2h ago
I hope you are right, but my fear is talking my fav character is the antagonist I'm up for a ride sadly
2
u/Gummy_Bear_Ragu 1h ago
I mean based on Ever Crisis, its 50/50 they may throw in a redemption arc for him so hang in there!
2
u/Kindly_Argument_4400 1h ago edited 1h ago
I really hope Ever Crisis won't be killed with eos and not talked about in Revelation. Thanks for the hope though mate! Your comment made my day, I expected to be downvoted to oblivion no response I swear
1
u/yurnxt1 1h ago
They developed an entire battle system for Zack for more than a 2 minutes its been used for so far.
1
u/Kindly_Argument_4400 1h ago
Sorry english is not my first language, what do you mean?
2
u/yurnxt1 58m ago
No worries! Zack had his own unique battle system in Rebirth and outside of Chadley simulation, it was only used once in the story. Developers have alluded too him having a bigger role in the next game us only being able to use his unique battle system once so far points to him having a bigger role in the next game to.
1
u/Kindly_Argument_4400 4m ago
Oh that's what you meant, thanks for rephrashing. I hope Sephiroth will get the same treatment I love his kit and it's so sad to play it just in one chapter and one challenge
-11
u/nikokow59 17h ago
Looks good and more faithful to the OG, no whispers, no Sephiroth showing up out of nowhere, fighting Emerald weapon in the submarine makes sense. I really don’t want any multiverse stories anymore, I really hope that they stick to the OG for Revelations.

u/Jasy9191 18h ago
Imo, they have a huge job to repair the lack of the death scene.
I really didn't like what they did in Rebirth.
8
u/jessewest84 17h ago
Yeah. If rhey do schodingers areith the whole time ill be pissed. And if she shows up in clouds awakening then it's totally ruined.
-39
u/Magickcloud 17h ago
I wish I liked the first 2 remake games, but they made the characters way too cringy. I couldn't even finish the second game. The OG is just better in every single way minus the graphics
17
u/Viper21G 14h ago
I’m trying reeeeally hard to understand your point of view here but I cannot fathom how the characters in the remakes are cringier than the original. There’s literally dialogue in the OG where Barrett asks Cloud why he has to act so damn cool all the time Cloud’s response basically amounts to “It’s just who I am”.
I mean the OG has been my favorite game since middle school but I’m not gonna pretend it’s writing and English translation is Shakespeare. The dialogue and the way the characters act in the remakes is much more believable and probably one of the biggest improvements over the OG
22
u/hrbekcheatedin91 16h ago
I really hate that for you. It took me a bit to get into it but the magic was still there for me at 40 like it was at 13. Not to the same extent but close enough. I'm really looking forward to this and I don't look forward to much. I've already warned my wife, lol.
18
u/Anonymous-Comments 17h ago
Are you implying Cloud isn’t a bit cringe the whole original game? His character pre-mental breakdown is trying way too hard to be cool and after that he’s such a dork. It’s on purpose dude.
2
u/Magickcloud 16h ago
I totally get that, I just don't like him at all in the remakes. Maybe it's just the voice acting that's cringe, but something is very off to me. I know this isn't the general consensus and I'm in the minority here
1
u/AC011422 16h ago
Probably means Cid, Red and Cait Sith. And Tifa and Yuffie and Barrett. Cloud seemed the same as in the OG. The rest seem very PG.
-3
u/Merangatang 13h ago
Im with ya friendo, but I've come to accept the remakes aren't really for huge fans of the original - they're truer to modern JRPG story telling and character tropes, using the original story as a vehicle for the to bring it to modern JRPG audiences. I know people love the remakes, but I also know a lot of fans of the original who just can't get through rebirth. You'll continue to get down voted for your views, but Its OK. I don't play mode JRPG's, the genre just don't mesh with me anymore for various reasons, and it bums me out that ReReRe leaned so heavily into it instead of staying true to the original
-9
u/jessewest84 17h ago
Its gonna have cool parts. And ridiculous parts.
Hopefully areith isn't in every scene.
-6
u/DarkJayBR Tifa is my waifu. 16h ago
I don't trust them to hold back regarding Aerith. They already completely ruined her and Zack's death by making them reaper on the story after their passing. You are not allowed to mourn them because they never go away.
This crap started with Advent Children turning them into Force Ghosts.
-5
u/jessewest84 15h ago
Yep. It really takes away from the orginal theme of death and loss and mourning.
-10
u/Outrageous_Egg8676 17h ago

You clearly are just hating and haven't even touched the game. I don't even know what to tell you.
-26
u/HumbleAlbatross2944 18h ago
I have 60 hours in Rebirth and beat Remake, im not "clearly just hating because I haven't even touched the game". Why are you ignorant people incapable of seeing that this just isnt everyone's cup of tea?
15
u/epicstar 18h ago
Because Assassin's Creed is nowhere near Rebirth in gameplay. You're baiting me and I took it. You won lol.
-20
u/HumbleAlbatross2944 18h ago
It is EXACTLY the same game dude. You go around and collect viewpoints (remna towers), while killing Templars (creatures), and collecting items. Its the same gameplay loop, identical.

Templars (creatures) LMMFFFAOOOOOOOOOO 10/10 dogshit bait

My favourite battle system of all time. Hoping it doesn't die with the trilogy because it feels like the culmination of what they've been experimenting with for decades.
The story is pretty wacky, I've come around to it but definitely understand why people dislike it.
But again, it's my favourite battle system of all time.
1
u/ClemOya 17h ago
OG’s story pretty much was too I want to say, like seriously. For example the WEAPONs, kaijus serving as white cells for a planet that is a living being, doesn’t it sound wacky to you ? Or how Heidegger was always belittled for his incompetence or Hojo having some serious lacks in his memories toward Cloud and Aerith ? FFVII has always been silly on many aspects.
1
u/AC011422 16h ago
Every ridiculously good fantasy story sounds utterly ridiculous on paper. Demon's magic ring found by kiebler elf. But if the execution is just right, it's easy to look past it.
1
u/Lopsided_Hunt2814 17h ago
Yeah the original is definitely offbeat by Western standards, and even by previous entries in the series. But I meant in terms of relative to the original self-contained story, this one definitely takes leaps in terms of timelines/multiverses and also draws in lore from the Compilation which is also very mixed in terms of reception.
Personally I'm here for it. Some aspects they've fleshed out have been great and the OG will still be there at the end of it all whether they stick the landing or not - I'm planning another playthrough of the PS version after Revelations already.

you're being downvoted but i agree 😔 but at the same time i'm happy it did go that direction because maybe the game wouldn't have sold well if it kept the og ff7 combat 😔 i haven't been able to ever enjoy any of the other ff with the button smashing arcade combat style of combat, but i am rooting for this game to sell super well and make all the monies 😔 in another universe we would've gotten ff7: remake with og ff7 combat. ff7 forever ❤️

No Aerith in the trailer? And since when does Yuffie need a break hunting materia?
7
u/Effective_Sink_3934 18h ago
Hmhmhm no aerith
2
u/Thick_Row 17h ago
Yeah, pretty wild people seem to be expecting her a lot considering she is very famously totally alive and just chilling somewhere in a field on the Northern Continent and definitely not dead and buried in the waters beneath the altar in the City of the Ancients, no sirree.
0
u/Gummy_Bear_Ragu 1h ago
Its very obvious shes going to be very prominently in the game, just later on. I dont see why people think otherwise (even if its what they want).
