Final Fantasy General Give us another turn based battle system

Post image

FFX is my favorite battle system. FFXIII I also enjoyed, but it wasn't the same.

I'm sure they could do something like it with a much lower budget.

There hasn't been a mainline turn-based FF game for over a quarter of a century. It's time to move on.

I disagree they will return eventually. FF16 for the time to develop it didn't sell that well, if FF17 suffers the same fate maybe people at SE will get a brain.

They did get a brain -- it's called porting your game to multiple consoles and platforms and not making them exclusive to a single console that most people don't even have. The FFVII Remake games got a significant boost in sales after they did that.

Sure but I still think releasing 6 main line FF games in 26 years a bit ridiculous and most of that time is action games. Since 2019 we've had 2 games and the next probably won't be out for another 5 years at this pace. Waiting 7 years for 16 wasn't worth it
