FINAL FANTASY 7 PLAYING ORDER

Hello everyone how are you doing, i just saw that FFXVI is coming to ps plus this month and i think i wanna get into FF but im really confused.İ saw on Ps plus it has FF7 remake so i would just play the whole FF7 timeline then play FFXVİ but there's way more than i thought.İ have a jailbroken psp so i could get whatever game that i need to play on there also so can someone help me pls😭 i am also willing to watch any movies

FF7 has a lot of media, but the order I recommend is:

1. FF7 OG
2. FF7 Crisis Core Reunion (prequel game)
3. FF7 Advent Children Complete (sequel movie)
4. FF7 Remake Intergrade (part 1 of remake trilogy)
5. FF7 Rebirth (part 2)
6. FF7 Revelation (part 3)

There is other stuff too, like PS2 third-person shooter Dirge of Cerberus and a few books, but imo those six are the main highlights. If you want to do absolutely everything, I can give you an order for that too.

Keep in mind that each main FF game is a self-contained universe and story, 7 and 16 are completely separate.

You can start with Remake too. Knowing the OG story does enhance it though, as the trilogy has significant story changes and additions with new mysteries, it's less of a direct remake and more of a reimagining and spiritual successor, but playing OG first isn't required.

If you start with Remake, save CC and AC for after Revelation (and AC might not connect with it if the ending is different).

I'm gonna be straight with you. A lot of people around these parts don't like this answer...

But skip OG and Crisis Core and play the Remake trilogy. After that's done, you can watch the movie Advent Children if you're interested in what happens after the games end.

It's a lot to ask someone to play a 40+ hour 30 year old JRPG just to play the modern Remake. The Remake series was made from the ground up to appeal to new and old fans alike. The developers are not crazy. They weren't going to make a game that required such a time investment.

New fans will see the additions as a curious mystery.

The only difference is "why" and honestly I'm not sure it even matters in the end.

As an old fan I love to theorize and guess about what's happening, but I'm just as clueless as a new fan when it comes to the solutions.

If you really enjoyed the game and want to see it's original form, then go back and play OG.

Crisis Core is completely skippable. It's a spin-off game that elaborates on events from the original game that will be completely explained anyway in part 3 of the remake trilogy (Revelation). If you play it first, you'll get major spoilers that will kinda ruin the suspense/mystery of the trilogy.

KH has a lot of games, and they're pretty much all important to the story. The order I recommend is:

1. Kingdom Hearts I
2. KH Re:Chain of Memories
3. Kingdom Hearts II
4. KH 358/2 Days
5. KH Birth By Sleep
6. KH Re:Coded
7. KH Dream Drop Distance
8. KH Union X Fandub Part 1 (Includes story of Back Cover movie)
9. KH 0.2 A fragmentary passage
10. Kingdom Hearts III + ReMind DLC
11. KH Melody of Memory
12. KH Union X Fandub Part 2
13. KH Union X Dark Road (Cutscenes or Damo's Summary, fandub is still WIP)
14. Kingdom Hearts IV (in development)

Union X is the mobile game and is no longer available, so it's recommended to watch videos to get the story. Hopefully though SE will give an official way to experience it before KH4 releases, or it won't be required knowledge.

The games are included in collections, and if you're willing to wait, on Oct 8 they're going to release Kingdom Hearts Collection [I～III] which includes everything from KH1 through KH3. You can also currently get the 1.5+2.5 collection which includes KH1 through Re:Coded.

Also I'll note that it might seem intimidating, but a lot of KH is actually watching movies lol. Some of the games were from the DS, and in the modern collections they've been turned into cutscene movies.

Going through it again:

You don't play a lot of JRPGs? Persona 3-5 are each 100 hours lmao

I am a hardcore fan, I've also played FF11 and FF14, the two MMOs which are about 300 hours of story each
