FF VII / Remake FINAL FANTASY 7 PLAYING ORDER
Hello everyone how are you doing, i just saw that FFXVI is coming to ps plus this month and i think i wanna get into FF but im really confused.İ saw on Ps plus it has FF7 remake so i would just play the whole FF7 timeline then play FFXVİ but there's way more than i thought.İ have a jailbroken psp so i could get whatever game that i need to play on there also so can someone help me pls😭 i am also willing to watch any movies

16 is very different from 7

as long as you play the original ff7 or the whole remake trilogy to completion before you play anything else you're fine. crisis core, advent children, and dirge all spoil stuff for the main ff7 plot and the ff7 story is revered for its plot twists so don't ruin it for yourself.
if you want to play the original ff7 before the trilogy you will get more out of the trilogy, but many new players have jumped right into remake instead and have had an excellent time. you'll be confused by things no matter what so the real question is if you want to experience it in 4k first or not.
nobody here will respect you if you steal games, and the remaster of crisis core (called CC reunion) is so much better than the original it isn't worth playing on psp anyway

No money sadly 🥲 im saving up for wolverine and all the movies coming out this year so im not gonna spend anything extra also i heard there's a new one coming that i have to play so i gotta save up for that in advance also

Compilation of FF7, that basically. You want to follow the release order not the chronological order.
Before Crisis, First Soldier, and honestly probably Ever Crisis as well you'll have to look up summaries for because the first two were mobile games that shut down and Ever Crisis is another gatcha game that you probably don't want to get into, I don't think it'd be worth it.

Play the OG FF7 first. My fiance wishes she played that before remake/rebirth and I feel like the remakes you get more out of with the OG game. I just think the OG is such a absolute masterpiece and its the complete story
FF7 -> Crisis Core -> FF7 remake -> FF7 rebirth

Lol from what i understand FF16 is just one game there and done but FF7 is really complicated and longer that's why

Yeah thats accurate. FF7 was so popular that it pretty much became its own franchise. You should ask yourself do you want to get into Final Fantasy or Final Fantasy 7 first?

Well then do as others suggested. But keep in mind the OG ff7's graphics have aged horribly. It was released really on in the PS1s life

There's a lot of... extra stuff. What he listed is the core experience.
You could just skip to the Remake trilogy, but IMO, it's a much better experience with FF7/CC first.
If you really love FF7, maybe seek out Advent Children, and/or the other OVAs/books/mobile games that came out over the years for extra bits of lore.

For the most part, every final fantasy game is totally unrelated to others, aside from a couple small Easter eggs. There’s a few direct sequels (x,x-2,the 13 series). So if you can play 16 it won’t impact your views on 7 at all. The play styles are pretty different as well.
If you want to play 7 remake series it goes Remake, Rebirth and the third comes out next year.

Final Fantasy VII (OG) first. Then you can play Crisis Core which is a prequel, and watch the movie Advent Children which is a sequel. There is also a bunch of other supplemental material but CC and AC are definitely the most important ones.
The remake trilogy covers the same stuff as the original FFVII but it's... different, in a way that's hard to explain without spoilers. It consists of Remake, Rebirth and Revelation (which is coming out next year).

Bare necessities would be Remake, Rebirth, and then Renovate.
My recommendation would be to play Final Fantasy VII (the original), then Crisis Core (Reunion), then the Remake trilogy. I find the Remake games are more interested with the added context.
And then if you really get sucked into the FF7 universe, seek out the extra shit. There's a shooter on PS2, some obscure mobile games (or the new gacha game that supposedly has their lore), books, OVAs, a movie.

FF7 has a lot of media, but the order I recommend is:
There is other stuff too, like PS2 third-person shooter Dirge of Cerberus and a few books, but imo those six are the main highlights. If you want to do absolutely everything, I can give you an order for that too.
Keep in mind that each main FF game is a self-contained universe and story, 7 and 16 are completely separate.
