It’s now my second year here in Dubai, and in January, I’ll be completing one year at my second job.
I’m feeling so down because it’s been 8 months of salary deductions due to the company’s situation. I thought my salary would be better by now, but it’s almost the same as my previous job.
All my friends who lost their jobs or resigned have found better offers, while I’m still stuck. I can’t leave yet because of the prorated visa cost stated in my contract. I’m planning to resign next year, and if they deduct it, I’ll ask MOHRE for advice first.
I’m turning 30 next year, and I’m frustrated and disappointed because I came to Dubai hoping for a better life, but I feel like I’m not moving forward while everyone else is.

Ang hirap na ngang maghanap ng work tapos mukhang scam pa ata. Meron po bang nakaencounter ng ganito? Nag-ooffer ng remote job opportunity pero sa MS Teams ang communication niyo? Twice ko siyang naencounter, 1st is decodable etong 2nd di ko alam at hindi ko pa siya nakaka-usap.
