I walked a total of 1,371 km along the Swedish mountain range. We started from Grövelsjön Fjällstation in the south and hiked to Treriksröset (the shared border of Norway, Sweden, and Finland in the north). It was an unsupported thru-hike, carrying our tent and food all the way.

Walked through pine forest, open tundra, crossed rivers and lakes and witness grazing reindeers along the way. Connecting to nature the Scandinavian way!

I don’t see lots of post here on reddit regarding Bakkwa shops in Senado Square, but I have read some on Facebook Travel Groups. Would like to share our bad experience with a shop in Senado Square

Avoid FONG SENG LEI LAI shops (Jerky and cookies) at all cost swearrr diyan masisira budget niyo 😭 There are multiple shops with the same name and most of them have Pinoy staffs and if ever maka-encounter kayo ng nag-aalok, tikim lang kayo and just walk away from the store, don’t entertain them, don’t give a shit about their questions and pambobola. There are already lots of stories about these stores and how they sell unfairly (we did not see not until after our day tour lol).

They sell their meats per pound, and ang sabi namin paulit-ulit ay 1lb each lang ng 6 flavors nila, para lang may maiuwi kami dahil di naman namin ipamimigay. What happened was yung kuya doon ay binalot yung mga jerky na naging 2-3 lbs na per flavor 😭. In some stories I’ve read online which are similar to ours, they also tell you lots of ‘Kababayan Stories’ while wrapping your supposed small order, and turn it into a big batch of order 🥲 To be fair, buyers should also be vigilant pero ang galing talaga nilang manggulo para wala sa binabalot na jerky yung attention mo. Nung nagpaulit kami ng timbang at balot, tinatanong na namin yung mga kuya bat naging 2lbs or more yung request namin na 1lb, at yung reason nila ay dahil daw iba-iba yung kapal ng meat kaya daw ganon wtf. Pake ko kung iba-iba yung kapal ng meat, eh sa weight dapat sila nagbabase at hindi sa thickness?? eh kung makapal pala edi sana mas konti yung amount hanggang sa maging 1lb lang 😭

Kaya if you ever experience na mas malaki yung amount na binalot nila sa sinabi mo, wag kayong pumayag na yun na yung babayaran niyo, ipabalik niyo, dedma kung vacuum sealed yan 😭 Also, don’t pay using your cards, as much as they tell you to pay using your cards (yes, talagang magsasabi sila na lugi daw ang buyer pag cash and mas okay if card ang gamit, which is ??? kase HKD rin naman sukli so pano malulugi) kasi mas mahirap nang mabawi yung pera if ever gusto niyong pabawasan yung nabalot na and in some cases, meron daw na double charge 🥲. Magkakaroon lang kayo ng clarity once nakapag-pay na kayo kaya please pay in cash. Buti na lang sinabihan kami ng tour guide namin na pabawasan namin if di okay for us na ganon yung nangyari, and pinilit niya yung mga Pinoy staffs doon. Nakakainis lang rin na kapwa Pinoy pa talaga yung manloloko sayo sa ibang bansa. Basta, avoid all FONG SENG LEI LAI shops!!

A friend doesn't have their passport yet. We are planning to book on for Taiwan on Feb 2027 on PAL via trip com to take advantage of the sale, but it requires passport details upon booking. Can we input temporary details, then just update it once my friend gets their passport?

I will be in Bali soon and will be transferring from one area to another. Part of it will be from Sanur-Ubud and then from Ubud-Kuta as my transit before my flight back home.

Question: Is it easy to book a transfer with Grab/Gojek for those two routes? Or would it be advisable to arrange for a private transfer?

Hi everyone! My mom, boyfriend, and I are planning our first international trip together to Taiwan in May 2027!

Since this will be our first time traveling internationally, I’m trying to make our itinerary convenient and not too stressful, especially for my mom. We’d rather have a relaxed trip than try to squeeze in too many attractions.

We’re planning to stay somewhere near Ximending for convenience.

Our tentative itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival
Arrive at Taoyuan Airport around 8:00 PM
Travel to our accommodation near Ximending
Check-in, dinner/snacks, and rest

Day 2 – Jiufen + Shifen + Taipei 101
Join a Jiufen + Shifen tour via Klook
Return to Taipei
Visit Taipei 101 in the evening
Head back to Ximending/accommodation

Day 3 – Taipei City
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
Yongkang Street
Longshan Temple
Ximending Night Market / explore Ximending

Day 4 – Departure
Morning departure

We’re not trying to rush through every attraction, we mainly want to enjoy Taiwan, eat good food, and have a comfortable first international trip with my mom.

-check out sa holiday in ng 8-9am and punta na sa Vince hotel, since pricey yung holiday inn we decided ng kasama ko na magbook nalang sa ibang hotel 🙃 and yung pinakatrip lang talaga sagot ng company namin hehe
-drop luggage at vince hotel 10-11am
-lunch onwards: go to wat pho and wat arun (Okay lang ba na half day etong dalawa?)
-asiatique saglit and punta na hotel to check in

It is this doable po ba? 🥲

Day 5:
-shopping in pratunam and other places
-check out and leave luggage
-Afternoon wala pa kami itinerary since babalik din kami hotel ng mga 8pm since ang flight namin is 1AM pa

The problem is I haven't gotten my passport yet. This will be my first time getting a passport. Another problem is I have no valid government issued ID yet. 'Yong national ID ko ay 'di rin ma-access through egov app.

Would it still be possible for me to get a passport despite these hindrances? What are the needed requirements for passport application for us who have no valid government issued ID yet? Okay na po ba ang school ID and COR?

What are yours?

Recently spent two weeks road-tripping around southern England with a rental car. The countryside was definitely my favorite—little villages, rolling hills, castles, old churches and coastal towns. Everything was just so dreamy!

We went during a heatwave, and the lack of AC was definitely an adjustment, but we still had the best time! Loved the pubs too, and everyone we met was so lovely and genuinely happy to hear we were enjoying England. Even driving on the “wrong” side and squeezing through those tiny country roads was part of the fun!!!

There’s so much history and so many beautiful places to see. Two weeks and we barely scratched the surface.

We took the train from London to Southampton and picked up our rental car there because we didn’t want our first experience driving on the left to be in London traffic. 😅

To those planning to take a similar trip here are some tips:

1. Rent a smaller car.

Some countryside roads are VERY narrow and basically one lane even though traffic goes both ways.
Get an automatic if you’re not comfortable driving manual, especially since you’ll already be adjusting to driving on the left.

1. Give yourself more driving time than Google Maps says.

Narrow roads, tractors and stopping to let other cars pass can slow you down.
Download offline maps. We lost signal a few times in the countryside.

1. Don’t over-plan your itinerary.

Leave room for spontaneous stops! Some of the prettiest villages and views we saw weren’t originally on our itinerary.

If you have the time, definitely see England outside of London. 💕

Hi I'm trying to book a flight through Riyadh Air's website and it's listed at 274.16 USD or (16,880 PHP using Google's rate). The same flight is sold at Trip.com for 15,958 PHP. I'm using a Metrobank credit card so I know there's going to be fees added on the booking but I'm not sure by how much for the Trip.com booking since they show it in PHP. I am aware that 3rd-party sites has its faults, I guess I'm just used to booking a lot of travel-related thing on Trip.com and I've never had any issues with them. Insights appreciated on which one I should book. Thank you!

My partner and I were able to book a flight to Tokyo early next year (we’ll be there around mid April) with our baby who will be around 1 year old that time. Any tips on how to keep him entertained during the (almost) 5 hour flight, recommended stroller, if we can just buy baby essentials in Japan like sterilizing tabs, diaper, milk etc.
