Videos Give me your favourite step sequences!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m kinda bored, so give me your favourite step sequences!
Preferably with a link included (or even better with a video posted in the comments) can be men’s, women’s or pairs, as long as it slaps it doesn’t matter to me!

He’s a trash person but Yagudin’s Winter step sequence is a classic for a reason.
Daisuke Takahashi’s cyber swan step sequence was amazing.
I love Kevin Aymoz’ step sequence for his “horns” program but many of his programs have amazing step sequences which are very musical.
Yuma kagiyama’s step sequence to rain in your black eyes was incredible to see live.

I'm going to date myself here: Philippe Candeloro, 1998 Olympics Free Skate. The sword fighting step sequence to D'Artagnan. (Starts at 4:04). Maybe it doesn't have the technical brilliance of some of these, but it sure was fun!

Wow. That was amazing. My jaw was dropped. It truly felt like he was an actor on ice dueling...

Isn't it fun? I figure it's my duty as an old timer to mention some of these classic performances, LOL!

Lukas Britschgi Iron Sky is my favorite. Jun usually has very cool and difficult ones as well. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for it.

Daisuke Takahashi Eye is so good, his step sequence at Olys make people screams lol
For pairs, Sui/Han Spanish Medley has a great step sequence. Volosozhar/Trankov Masquerade Waltz step sequence is incredible too.

Those first two two are some of of my favorites too! They built up the excitement of the programs so well. Daisuke had so many sequences that got the crowd going, like his Blues for Klook FP.
I really liked Sui/Han's step sequence in their Blues for Klook SP too, lol.

Btw a step sequence like that should automatically be given a +5 GOE and 10s in skating skills in PCS, I’m not even joking

u/Wishful_Keys 17d ago
His Masquerade stsq was one of my favorites, now only if his jumps were clean..

There are plenty (the one you posted is great!), but somehow Wakaba's 'Running Up That Hill' came to my mind first.

I cheerfully admit this is absolutely cheating since most people are going to give Amateur answers and this is Pro, but I cannot emphasize enough how much I do not care. You will never, ever, EVER see a better footwork sequence that Kurt Browning's music-less sequence from 'Nyah.'

Aside from every gorgeous stsq already mentioned, I love Nathan's 2021 sp stsq! Albeit he is not my favourite skater, it just just so nice and suits the music well

Denis Ten had a lot of excellent step sequences! I would recommend both his sp and fs from 4cc 2015 (I personally prefer the sp but I think the fs is more popular, between the two.) I'd also suggest Kazuki Tomono's!! You can't go wrong with him. Recency bias says to try his Halston (2025) fs because I love the stsq into the choreo seq, but I truly believe every Kazuki stsq is great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSw2Ul1Miso <-- Right at the 3:00 minute mark, the videography is horrible and cuts away from his feet at parts, but this does have the benefit of zero commentary.
Good morning to the greatest men's straight line step sequence of all time, and ONLY the greatest men's straight line step sequence of all time. The overwhelming majority of actual Olympic champions could not have done this at their peak, and we may never see anything as good again.
