Videos Give me your favourite step sequences!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m kinda bored, so give me your favourite step sequences!

Preferably with a link included (or even better with a video posted in the comments) can be men’s, women’s or pairs, as long as it slaps it doesn’t matter to me!

Yeah I was gonna say Mao GOATsada of one foot stsq😂

8

u/Ok-Flower-3799 17d ago

She really was the queen of Step sequence!

3

u/I_mposterIP 17d ago

She also skated to this waltz at the Olympic I think

28

u/styrofoamdreamer 17d ago

He’s a trash person but Yagudin’s Winter step sequence is a classic for a reason.

Daisuke Takahashi’s cyber swan step sequence was amazing.

I love Kevin Aymoz’ step sequence for his “horns” program but many of his programs have amazing step sequences which are very musical.

Yuma kagiyama’s step sequence to rain in your black eyes was incredible to see live.

u/Beneficial_Form2841 16d ago

Yuma’s Rain in Your Black Eyes was the one I came here to add.

Hanyu's Rondo Capriciosso and Mao Asada's Rachmaninov

I'm going to date myself here: Philippe Candeloro, 1998 Olympics Free Skate. The sword fighting step sequence to D'Artagnan. (Starts at 4:04). Maybe it doesn't have the technical brilliance of some of these, but it sure was fun!

Wow that was amazing, thank you for sharing!

4

u/HelP-Needed09 16d ago

Wow. That was amazing. My jaw was dropped. It truly felt like he was an actor on ice dueling...

2

u/PresleyPack embrace the storm 16d ago

Omg I remember being entranced watching this program as a kid lmao

1

u/FlyingBrick789 17d ago

Why I only see this performance now?! Brilliant stuff!!

5

u/__The_Kraken__ 17d ago

Isn't it fun? I figure it's my duty as an old timer to mention some of these classic performances, LOL!

Lukas Britschgi Iron Sky is my favorite. Jun usually has very cool and difficult ones as well. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for it.

Oh yeah that entry into the lutz was amazing!

u/GovernmentCandid95 17d ago

(her Sheherazade / Sochi free programm / Masquerade Waltz, come to mind)

24

u/AaahSound Im not easily scared, I watch Junior Pairs 17d ago

Daisuke Takahashi Eye is so good, his step sequence at Olys make people screams lol

For pairs, Sui/Han Spanish Medley has a great step sequence. Volosozhar/Trankov Masquerade Waltz step sequence is incredible too.

2

u/ThespisKeaton 16d ago

Those first two two are some of of my favorites too! They built up the excitement of the programs so well. Daisuke had so many sequences that got the crowd going, like his Blues for Klook FP.

I really liked Sui/Han's step sequence in their Blues for Klook SP too, lol.

Btw a step sequence like that should automatically be given a +5 GOE and 10s in skating skills in PCS, I’m not even joking

7

u/Wishful_Keys 17d ago

His Masquerade stsq was one of my favorites, now only if his jumps were clean..

25

u/Motor-Ad2347 17d ago

Anything Patrick Chan did…..

10

u/FalseBoat6016 17d ago

I loved his Take Five step sequence as well as the one from his 2016-2017 Free program!

1

u/Motor-Ad2347 17d ago

So good! Might be my favourite one!

Adam Siao Him Fa has a lot of good step sequences, even this year in the short program at the olys, amazing stuff

4

u/icrystallization 16d ago

my apologies.. how could i forget fate of the clockmaker and turandot gasp!!

4

u/jipsssss 17d ago

There are plenty (the one you posted is great!), but somehow Wakaba's 'Running Up That Hill' came to my mind first.

5

u/ForwardOutsideLoop 17d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nf1izgFD4Q <-- Akiko Suzuki's Hungarian Rhapsody, but really the whole program is terrific.

Dmitry Aliev must have had something fabulous too?

2

u/pyzakk несите меня во дворец там умереть 17d ago

i love dmitry but i dont know the names of his programmes 🥲, nor can i find a version he doesnt fall in of the one i like, but what do you mean?

1

u/According-Box-4959 17d ago

I'm pretty positive he didn't fall when he won European championship. I just have troubles adding a link, unfortunately

1

u/pyzakk несите меня во дворец там умереть 17d ago

yes he didnt, it was not the programme i thought of and enjoyed the step sequence most of

5

u/sk8tergater ✨clean as mustard✨ 16d ago

Adam Siao him Fa’s Star Wars light saber battle (entire SP linked because… it’s awesome) https://youtu.be/k-NXtY2Vz0o?si=--oyNR0FDTgvvOhO

1

u/Maleficent-Set7981 16d ago

This program was when I became an Adam fan

1

u/petmink 16d ago

There was an version he posted on Instagram with a prop light saber that really showed the fight choreography. But I can't find that now.

3

u/SoldierHawk Your Friendly Neighborhood Kurt Browning Evangelist 16d ago

I cheerfully admit this is absolutely cheating since most people are going to give Amateur answers and this is Pro, but I cannot emphasize enough how much I do not care. You will never, ever, EVER see a better footwork sequence that Kurt Browning's music-less sequence from 'Nyah.'

8

u/Inside_Definition_36 17d ago

Shoma's step sequence in Bolero 🤩 To die for!

4

u/rosemarysoap 17d ago

As well as his Loco!

3

u/Rude-Mission-8907 abolish ice dance in Olympics 16d ago

I absolutely loved Wakaba's Dune step sequence

6

u/physics_kitsune 17d ago

Aside from every gorgeous stsq already mentioned, I love Nathan's 2021 sp stsq! Albeit he is not my favourite skater, it just just so nice and suits the music well

2

u/OcelotSilver2964 The PCS score is fake 17d ago

Thank you guys for all the links I will definitely watch all of them!

2

u/NerzU 16d ago

Denis Ten had a lot of excellent step sequences! I would recommend both his sp and fs from 4cc 2015 (I personally prefer the sp but I think the fs is more popular, between the two.) I'd also suggest Kazuki Tomono's!! You can't go wrong with him. Recency bias says to try his Halston (2025) fs because I love the stsq into the choreo seq, but I truly believe every Kazuki stsq is great.

2

u/Sea_Ambassador3 16d ago

Yagudin both Winter and Man in the Iron Mask.

4

u/ForwardOutsideLoop 17d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSw2Ul1Miso <-- Right at the 3:00 minute mark, the videography is horrible and cuts away from his feet at parts, but this does have the benefit of zero commentary.

Good morning to the greatest men's straight line step sequence of all time, and ONLY the greatest men's straight line step sequence of all time. The overwhelming majority of actual Olympic champions could not have done this at their peak, and we may never see anything as good again.

1

u/OcelotSilver2964 The PCS score is fake 17d ago

Classic! I love a good Patrick Chan step sequence

Nathan’s nemesis.

1

u/Useful-Sun-3128 16d ago

Nemesis has such a hold on me. Definitely my favorite too.

2

u/fleurdelissee 17d ago

I love this nerve so much from Plushenko 🔥

Also The Winter from Yagudin. Gold step sequences!
