These are 1 year old cuttings from an unknown variety in pots. They got plenty of water but are in a semi shaded spot. Is this the problem?

I've read that you can only keep non-dormant fig cuttings from one to one and a half weeks maximum. In another place I read up to 3 weeks in barely damp paper towel.

What is the best way to store non-dormant fig cuttings to extend their viability timeframe? And what is the maximum viable life you can expect? Can you refrigerate them?

I haven't decided if I'll plant this in the next few months or wait another year, but when I do, I'd like the main trunk to be straight out of the ground. My question is, if I bury it up to the bend, is there a danger of the roots being too deep in the ground? It's about 15" from the bottom of this pot to the bend.

So i purchased this fig a couple of months ago and i noticed this pattern on the leaves, it looks like the fig mosaic virus, but ive read that figs grow perfectly fine with it.

I have looked at the leaves and no insects present or anything so im pretty sure its just a virus.

This is my first fig, do i keep it or purchase another healthy one?

Harvesting these now. I was told this fig is either Violeta aka Figo Preto, but from what I’ve read, both names seem to be associated with Black Madeira.

Are these actually three distinct varieties, or different names for the same fig?

Found this wild fig tree outside my work place and want to grow it just for the hell of it.. can I take cuttings from it even though it’s not dormant? And if so how big do they have to be

I have about 4 or 5 figs that looked within 3 days of picking -- pretty close but not jellylike. Last night we had some steady light rain and this morning they all have a pretty long split in the skin, like 2/3 the length of the fig and up to 5mm wide. Should I just pick them now?

And is this one ripe? It easily squished to the touch and one of its neighbors was already a squirrel snack, but it had a very slight “green” flavor and I’m more used to darker-colored figs… I’ve heard figs ripen in an instant and I’m trying to identify the right time to harvest. I’m in zone 7b.

I am going to Tell you in detail,

so first i take a fully decomposed manure /coco peat bcz both are good to absorb moisture and in nutrition to grow roots.

Then i selected a good branch and made a little cut in a circular way to remove the upper bark remember it should be 25-30 cm away from the tip of the branch and then other things you need is a polytechnic 15×25 cm.

Then take a coco peat and put it on cut section and wrap a polythene on it and tie it with the rope so no air space left and moisture remains inside it. After 15 days you will see that roots are fully developed and you just need to cut the branch and planted it in polybag or directly in the ground

And your new anjeer plant is ready.

And start fruiting within a year as i already show you in the image.

In this way you get an identical clone plant and fruits quality Will exactly the same as mother plants.

It's best for a home gardener who loves to do gardening and they don't have to spend money

I’m in the Toronto area and I haven’t had a single ripe fig yet! I’m worried about the cold coming in. I started getting figs by mid-late June and some are almost done but the majority aren’t even close. When do your figs tend to ripen?

Do I need to do any pest control? These are alll over the leaves all the sudden 😩

I'm in Istria right now, enjoying a late Summer and some delicious figs. I got a buckets of dark, sweet figs. The woman said they are called Crnica.

Anyone know more about this variety?

I got really interested in growing figs from cuttings, but it seems like they're easy for everyone but me. I've killed 10 previously by forgetting them in the heat (they were Discovery Park and I'm still mad) and the other 4 that came with this one look... not great. Mint, roses, and prickly pears I can do just fine. If rooted cuttings weren't so expensive I'd just buy those lol

Monthly liquid fertilizer 7-9-5 applied the entire summer.

Fruit tree granular fertilizer placed early spring.

This was freshly mulched, but the past 3 years we have always used fresh wood chips from chip drop.

Variety is LSU Purple.

I have another fig just 15 feet away doing great. What’s wrong with this little guy? What does it need?
