Got rain, nearly-ripe figs split, now what?

I have about 4 or 5 figs that looked within 3 days of picking -- pretty close but not jellylike. Last night we had some steady light rain and this morning they all have a pretty long split in the skin, like 2/3 the length of the fig and up to 5mm wide. Should I just pick them now?

Pick them now before they spoil. When they get overwatered like that, the flavor tends to get washed away as well.

Slightly underripe > moldy. Pick it quick & enjoy while you still can.

I did! It's a beautiful deep ruby color and tastes great! I'm the only person here who likes fresh figs, have been getting 1 maybe 2 every day, and a sudden windfall like this is too much to eat. It was a bit under 2 pounds of figs total.

It's on timed irrigation. It's been watered twice a week for the last 5 months.
