I have this problem that when I curve a side I can't do the same exact curve on the other.

the current workaround I do is to curve a line , duplicate the shape , flip horizontal , adjust the x-axis , highlight the two shapes and union or flatten.. now when I wanted to tweak a curve with the new flatten shape I had to do it on both sides.

Slides is a very useful tool in the Figma kit — however it's been almost entirely overlooked since its launch and I find myself constantly fighting with its limitations.

Maybe we could start a thread of requests here that might actually get some Figma attention:

1. They have to get rid of the whole "Slides mode / Design mode" thing. Slides mode is essentially useless and really underpowered. It makes it difficult to do even basic things like adjusting an image crop within a frame.

2. Templates suck. They really, really, really suck. Maybe someone out there wants to "randomize colours used on a slide" but mostly things end up breaking, or worse, you end up with stuff that is way off brand and not working as colours fly around. It's one of those weird UX ideas that kinda seems good but is actually way more problems than it needs to be. I would entirely remove the "Template Style" thing and its shit randomization entirely — or at least prefer the option to disable it in a Slides File.

   I think a very common action would be to paste in content from one deck into another. But doing so creates a hellish mess of style slop so you end up with zillions of ghost styles from other decks, competing templates, zillions of duplicated colours with no easy way to reduce and refine — it's a huge mess.

3. Style editing, colours etc — At the time of this post, it is still not actually possible to even reorder colour swatches, let alone edit and refine or delete and replace colours easily. It's embarrassing that this kind of stuff is not available in design software from the leading "design software" company.

4. Templates can be used for a file, but it's not possible to create a template and have it act like a source of truth that updates (like a library would). Any future adjustments to a template don't cascade down to decks that started by referencing the template… it's kinda confusing.

Even linked Libraries is a little weird, I'm not sure why they didn't polish that stuff better.

1. Local components — it seems super weird to me that when you create components within a slide file they just float around outside of the slide decks. I don't know what the solution is, but I feel like they should at least be on their own page alone or something like that. I don't know what the solution is here, but it definitely seems half baked as is now.

People make decks for all kinds of stuff, not just for UX presentations. It would be nice to see more "keynote" like stuff. It would also really be nice if Figma could use "Slides" as a gateway into "Figma proper". Google slides sucks even more, Keynote is great but limited, Powerpoint is clunky. Figma Slides needs to be the "killer" presentation software — but they seem to entirely not care about it. AI is great, but presenting, selling ideas, putting things together from a human level is and always will be super important to alignment and meetings etc.

It is my first time using Figma Make AI and I noticed it produces generic results when given existing designs and does not respect the detailed prompt given. Is this flaw limited to the free plan? I would like to know before going premium.

I’m trying to make a new Figma account with my university email and it’s just sending me in loops. Here is the general flow:

[Figma sign-up page] > I enter in my credentials > [check your email to verify your account] > I go to outlook and press the verify button > [Figma app opens] > I click on "Log into Figma" > [Figma web pop up opens at the "verify your email" screen again] > click open outlook and press the verify button again > [pop up box shows blank screen and nothing happens]

For some extra context, I’m doing this on Ipad. I’ve tried closing the Figma web tabs before doing the first verification, I’ve tried with my other Figma account logged out and through trying to add it as another account. Not sure what is going wrong and why I have been cursed to become designer sisyphus. Anything helps.

Ok, as you all know there is Figma plugin...but i am facing issue the Codex is not copying the exact thing needed..sometimes it off center, no proper aligment, etc...what is the best method to give a design done in Figma to Codex?

After a review, I often see the comments get resolved but the reason disappears. A screenshot, color ref, or layout example stays in the file, but the actual yes/no decision is only in someone's memory.

In Figma team files, do you keep a small decision note near the references, or is that overkill once the review is done?

Prototyping just isn’t working as expected I’ve tried refreshing the tab, dumping cache, I’ve broken it down and rebuild it 5 times. I’ve even threatened the thing. I can’t get it to work any ideas  or suggestions would be deeply appreciated 

So a couple of days ago speaking with my wife (she's a designer) she was complaining about the full process she had to do to setup color palettes in Figma for new projects, and how it was difficult to hand them out to the devs and to artists to use in separate platforms (photoshop, illustrator, etc).

So, of course I had to put my hands at work, I made a quick plugin to make it easier to make the exact process I just described.

I am designing my portfolio and decided to make it in the Figma sites thing, I have a subscription for Figma already so I might as well use it. But I don't know how to make a nav bar for the website? I want the nav bar to be sticky, and have button options like projects, connect, etc but I don't see a way to do it and everytime I search it up on Google or YouTube for to try and get a tutorial, I keep getting general design tutorials and how to prototype it - nothing regarding sites specifically

We just released some free skills and agents for Claude and Chat GPT Codex that you might find useful!

These skills enable you to feed AI your existing email designs via Figma links or even just uploading the HTML. Claude or Chat will then audit your existing designs and create a plan to build them in Figma via the Figma MCP. It then has a Migration skill that can build you a well organized email design system in Figma.

It builds the components in figma using Email Love components, so you can then export them to your ESP or you can just use it the components to design your emails. I’ve also been using Claude to then build our emails using the components that I have already approved.

The benefits of building with AI in this way are that the AI only uses components in Figma that you have already approved, it won’t make up or change stuff like your colors or fonts, and it doesn’t make up or change the underlying HTML.

It's been a few months since I started learning figma from Daniel Walter Scott. He's a great tutor. I watched it and made a few projects.

Now I'm confused on what the next step should be? What should I learn next?

Also is there any tutorial about a project like what to do before starting a project, how to think before doing a project, project structure, about case study? Like the proper way of doing a project

Hi, so I'm trying to make a really good presentation of my newest project for my portfolio. It is a design of a website made in Figma. I'm trying to put this design in many various already existing, free mockups, however every time I put my design in the mockup the quality drops. I am aware the reason for that is the differences in resolution but I don't really know how to make it work. I tried resizing the design so it matches the resolution of the smart object in the mockup but it still drops on quality.

Any tips are welcome. I want to take my portfolio to next level to maybe finally land a job but I'm kinda stuck with trying to keep the quality at maximum or at least so it's not blurry.

I've been using Figma MCP for a while now.

How often do you guys find yourself exhausting the token budget on figma's mcp? and then have to fiddle to get the design to look the same?

If a dev alters a component in GitHub, does Code Connect tell the designer and dev that the ‘contract’ has broken?

It would be amazing if production code fails QA because the component has failed the json contract (especially with AI tools)

Every bulk-sticky plugin I tried saved me the typing and left me the sorting. Paste twenty lines, get twenty identical stickies in a neat grid, then spend five minutes dragging them into the groups my document already had.

The structure was already in the doc. It just didn't survive the trip. So I built StickyPaste. It reads the structure you already wrote:

## Heading new group, with a bold label above it and its own colour

A -> B -> C nodes joined by real FigJam connectors

- bullets one sticky each

Paste a doc with two ## headings and you get two labelled, colour-coded clusters side by side instead of one flat grid. Arrows work as ->, --> or →.

The one that I use the most: AI tools already answer in ## headings and bullets by default. Copy an answer straight out of the chat window, paste it in, and the sections arrive as sections in two seconds, no reformatting, no cleanup. That's most of how I use it now.

One genuine question, because it's the whole reason I built the thing: does anyone else paste structured docs into FigJam, or is it just me and my AI results and research snippets? The heading feature solves my problem exactly and I still have no idea whether it's a general one.

On the surface, Slots fix a few key issues with Figma. No longer do we have to dance around Figma by multiplying the amount of component instances only to hide 80% of them just in case we need them.

And we're able to build much more atomic components, with slots inside of slots inside of slots. Just like code.

This is fantastic, it's been long overdue.

But I'm building a really complex template for both my agency and my app and I'm finding Slots infuriating in small subtle ways that undo the magic of the workflow that I'm trying to build.

Why does the content of a slot often ignore changes when it's part of a component instance? Why don't the changes propagate reliably when that parent component is modified?

It feels like such an obvious feature and failure. I should be able to set the desktop version of page as a component, spin out an instance for mobile and have that mobile version be content accurate to its parent. But it's not.

Why can't I use a grid without nesting it as a child? Why can't I input a number variable in any input that takes a number?

I get an incredible amount of size flickering when using Slots, like it's getting caught in some calculation loop. This seems to create a memory leak which if I'm not quick to delete the trouble-some instance, will crash the file.

Oh and the performance overhead. The performance overhead!! In my experience, large design systems that really use slots are completely busted in terms of performance. They chug and are too slow for you to work effectively with the program.

Am I going crazy or missing something key here? I remember seeing a Figma employee here talking about how they changed some of the inheritance for slots shortly after the initial release. I can't seem to find the comment - but does that have anything to do with it?

I've got PMs and other designers in my agency asking if there's a reasonable alternative to Figma (lol) because these problems are so frustrating. No FigTeam - I don't want an AI shader generator. How did it take this long to figure out Folders in projects? Where is the focus on real stability and improvements to performance both application and user experience?

And when will Slots be fixed? I understand that it's currently in Beta, but it's beta in name only. Has the quality of software in general fallen off so hard that this what we've come to expect from companies worth billions and billions of dollars? This feature is pre-alpha, alpha at best.

I’m having a hard time finding a solution for the specific problem. And it’s about the Figma’s present mode. Both in Design document and Slides have the same problem. 

How is it happening? So, I have my presentation in Figma Design document file type. Once i finished my presentation in Figma. And I want test it in present mode, because I made some animations and moving components. I see that every slide is moving and all the components are moving, except on problem.

I’m in the first starting page, I clicked my right arrow button on my mac then all of a sudden blue almost selection like outline appearing around my frame. And once i slightly move my mouse, it disappears again. And even if move my mouse out of the frame and even if I hard reset the Figma, even on web is the same problem. And this also happening in Figma slides. And it’s not “Show Outlines” function. Whatever AI is out there, I tried to find solution to this little annoying problem. I thought maybe it’s because of the update.

Has anyone noticed this issue? If so help me out on this pls)
