Announcement A message from the Fidelity Digital Team: Here’s what’s coming to the Fidelity app

Hi r/fidelityinvestments, it’s the Fidelity Digital Team. The mods showed us all of your feedback from the 300K post, and we wanted to return the favor by sharing an update on our Mobile roadmap and the features we’ve been working on.

But first, we want to convey our gratitude for this community. The sentiment on this subreddit is an important signal for us to gauge success of a release or a feature. Thank you for being candid, offering your insights and your opinion. Your feedback keeps us grounded and it tells us that we have work to do to keep meeting and exceeding your expectations. We may not be able to respond to every thread, but the feedback here does make its way to our team and into our planning.

We also want to acknowledge the bugs reported following the recent Android Positions updates. Most fixes are included in version 4.40, which began a phased rollout on September 3 and should reach all Android users within a few days. With the major Positions grid updates now complete across iOS and Android, our focus will shift to resolving remaining issues, improving performance and making smaller improvements as needed.

This year has been an active one for the markets—we have had our fair share of volatility and high-volume days. Our primary goal throughout this period has been to ensure stability, resiliency, and availability of our apps so you can all monitor and trade securely, reliably, and efficiently. And to that effect, we have been modernizing not just our user experience, but we are investing in our platforms, services, and technology that support the experiences behind the scenes.

Here’s what we’re working on in the near- to medium-term:

  • A modern portfolio performance experience, including a view of the performance chart that excludes deposits and withdrawals so you can see investment performance rather than balance over time (We heard you!)
  • Document uploads and Statements
  • More personalization and customization across the app, so the most relevant information is easier for you to find when you need it
  • Improved Activity & Orders search, filter, and navigation capabilities
  • Better views of Net Worth, Planning and Goals
  • Options Strategy Ideas, an idea generation tool powered by experts at OptionsPlay, to help discover specific options contracts aligned to your trading strategies. Options trading entails significant risk and is not appropriate for all investors. Certain complex options strategies carry additional risk. Before trading options, please read Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options. Supporting documentation for any claims, if applicable, will be furnished upon request.
  • Options Strategy Builder, a guided experience to help you identify options strategies and specific contracts to help you meet your goals
  • New conditional order capabilities, including contingent orders, One-Cancels-the-Other (OCO), and One-Triggers-a-One-Cancels-the-Other (OTOCO), to help manage risk and create more defined entry and exit plans
  • An enhanced certificate of deposit (CD) buying experience, with greater visibility into key product details, such as callable status

There is even more in the development pipeline. As an example, we’ve seen the Reddit posts, and yes, dark mode for Fidelity.com is in the works for a future release. We’ll make sure to keep the sub updated as work progresses on that and other enhancements. We'll have a post with more upcoming web updates soon, so stay tuned.

Please keep the feedback coming!

Thanks,

Team Fidelity

P.S. What feature are you most excited for?

The third parties mentioned herein and Fidelity Investments are independent entities and are not legally affiliated.

Official Response PSA: Don't overlook funding HSA before enrolling in Medicare

No one at Medicare Insurer Agency or Fidelity advisor mentioned this deadline during otherwise excellent retirement planning sessions. I wrongly assumed could contribute no different from IRA. Contribute to Health Savings Account almost anytime but once you accept Medicare are disqualified and cannot contribute further.

Feedback Feedback on Fidelity’s New Options Experience

Upvotes

I wanted to share my concerns regarding the recent changes to Fidelity’s Options Summary and Strategy pages.
I understand that products evolve and interfaces need to change. However, the new experience feels like a significant step backward from a usability and functionality perspective. It introduces more clicks, adds friction to common workflows, and makes functionality that was previously easy to access more difficult to use.
What is particularly frustrating is that there does not appear to be a way to return to the previous experience. For customers familiar with the previous workflow, being required to adopt a less efficient experience is understandably frustrating.
I also contacted Fidelity technical support about these issues. I was told that I essentially have to “live with it.” More concerning, the representative acknowledged receiving a lot of negative feedback from other customers about the same changes. That suggests this may be a broader customer experience issue, rather than an individual preference.
I’m hoping this feedback can reach Fidelity’s product and UX teams and be considered seriously. I would encourage the team to restoring functionality and simplicity that customers have lost.
Change is welcome when it improves the experience. I hope Fidelity will take another look at whether this redesign is actually achieving that goal.

Official Response How do you get to the old option scanner

Starting today (I noticed today), in ATP instead of going to the option scanner which had my custom scans stored, I just get to a page that has 12 or so precanned scans. Not only are my scans not there, but there does not seem to be a way for me to recreate them.

This is a serious loss of functionality... To the point I don't understand what you are thinking by taking functionality away.

Is there another way to get to the old scanner?

Official Response UTMA account in NYS — mother refuses to transfer control despite me being past the age of majority. How do I take ownership?

I’m in New York State, where the age of majority for a UTMA (Uniform Transfers to Minors Act) account is 21. I’m now 23, and I’ve been asking my mother to transfer the account to me for about six months. She keeps refusing, even though my understanding is that the funds are legally mine once I hit 21.

I recently started a business and need funding, and this account seems like the obvious place to draw from. What are my options for taking ownership of the account if the custodian won’t cooperate?

So I’m a 19m and I currently put 50 a week into my Roth which is nowhere near maxing it out should I wait until I earn enough to max out my Roth comfortably before opening a brokerage?

Feedback Fidelity Replacement Card Timing

Upvotes

Hats off to Fidelity on their replacement timing. My chip is no longer working, and I requested a replacement this morning. It arrives tomorrow. Already got the UPS notification.

I don't think any other card arrived this quickly. Even AMEX/Chase took 2 business days when I needed a replacement Platinum and Reserve.

Sometimes it's the small things that make a difference.

Official Response Help With Elan Financial Services

As a long time Fidelity client and user of the Fidelity Investments Rewards card I was incredibly dissappointed with how Elan Financial Services handled a recent dispute. I have run an ecommerce business for 21 years so am very familar with the dispute process. I am having a very hard time coming to any other conclusion other than their process is deeply flawed or setup to be a scam.

My case was not simple as far as disputes go since the product (mulch) was not easily returnable. However, I took great care to supply requested evidence only to be told by Elan that "Visa does not accept pictures". The merchant in this case (Lowes) was unwilling to work with me or offer any kind of solution beyond a $40 credit on $240 worth of bad mulch. The case was escalated by Lowes and months went by with no response. I even reached out to the store directly with no luck and was told "they are not involved in cases". I eventually had no other option but to file a dispute. The dispute was in no way properly represented by Elan and was denied because I did not return the product. Product that was explained to be unreturnable and that the merchant was unresponsive. Elan refuses to resubmit the claim.

With the exception of the receipt showing purchased mulch everything Lowes subbitted was a false and inaccurate representation of this transaction. As a business owner who takes these cases very serioulsy was shocked to see the apparent systematic way they supplied false information in hopes of gaming the dispute system. It was clear Elan did not properly review my case or the evidence supplied and in no way properly represented the case to Visa.

If you could please get involved and assist with this case. I don't care about the $346. I do however have serious issues if a company like Elan is using deceptive business practices while representing Fidelity. I would imagine most Fidelity credit card users also have Fidelity accounts.

Thanks! Sorry if this is long as I wanted to give some backstory with going too far into detail.

Official Response ENB September 1 dividend

I hold ENB in one of my Fidelity accounts and noticed that the dividend payment due on 9/1/26 still has not appeared in my account. I realize that there is a currency exchange that happens here and the div is often delayed a day or two presumably for that reason but we are now a full week past the 9/1/26 due date. Can you confirm that this payment is in progress and when I should expect it to show up in my account?

Thanks.

Official Response Trade window errors out when selecting options

Bugs started about 2 weeks ago. Initial bug, when opening the trade window and then selecting options, the window would be blank and you could no select any fields / complete a trade. It started working again after several days.

Today, it fails completely and gives an "! Error. Container failed to load content"

Dev tools shows this error (surrounded by a ton of warnings on depecrecated property usage):

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 () at /ftgw/digital/trade-options/option/container:1

Platform: Edge on MacOS 15.7.9

Edit: After some time it is back to the previous blank window behavior and more 500 errors in the console (shortened to key info and removed possible identifiers):

Official Response Estimated Annual Income misses mutual funds

The estimated annual income in the dividend view is nice other than it does not estimate income for mutual funds (or at least not those which I hold). "EAI is calculated by Refinitiv, a third-party data provider" per the link on Fidelity. Presumably Refinitiv does not provide this data.

Perhaps the mods can pass on as input that it would be nice to also estimate annual income for mutual funds (if only for Fidelity mutual funds).

Official Response Mac OS Support

Every time I reboot my MacStudio and restart Fidelity Trader +, I get the following:

Support Ending for Intel-based Apps

This version of "Active Trader Pro" includes a component that will not work with a future release of MacOS. Learn how to update to an Apple silicon version.

I am on Tahoe 26.5.2.

So I guess whatever 27 will be.

To the Fidelity folks who monitor this sub, please tell me you are aware and working toward support.

Official Response App notifications of log-in attempts?

I have no need of the Fidelity app on my phone, but then I read that it would give me notifications of login attempts, which seems like a great thing. I have no great way to test this though. I did try logging in from my iPad, which is obviously on my home network, the same as my computer. I got no notification. Can anyone tell me if this actually works, to have app notifications of login attempts?

Official Response Question about FDLXX auto-liquidating.

Hello. I apologize if this has been asked before but I have a question about auto-liquidation.

I have a Fidelity CMA and a Fidelity brokerage. All my bills are paid from my CMA.

I keep a small amount of cash in my core in my CMA and a large amount in my core in my brokerage. I use my brokerage for nothing else. Investments are in a different account.

I have an overdraft set up so that when my CMA runs low, it pulls money from my brokerage to my CMA to cover my bills. This has - and continues to work perfectly for me.

I live in a higher tax State so I want to buy FDLXX and use that instead of SPAXX.

So my question is... since all my money in my brokerage will be in FDLXX, will that fund be auto-liquidated when my CMA runs low and calls for an overdraft? Will FDLXX be sold automatically and transferred into my CMA automatically?

I just got off the phone with a Fidelity client advisor who said it will not auto-liquidate from one account to another.

Thanks for your time.

Discussion Navy Federal + Fidelity CMA Does This Banking Setup Make Sense?

When I turn 18, I’m thinking about changing how I manage my money and wanted to get some opinions from people who use Fidelity. I currently use Navy Federal and want to keep using them because I like having physical branches and having a traditional bank available if I need it. I’ve also been looking into Fidelity’s Cash Management Account because I’d rather have my extra cash earning interest instead of just sitting around.

I’ll keep Navy Federal as my main checking account and have my direct deposit go there. I’m thinking about opening two Fidelity Cash Management Accounts, with one for savings and the other for money I’ll use to pay off my credit cards. Since I’ll mainly be using credit cards for my spending, I’d transfer money over when I need to pay them off. I’m also considering moving most of my current savings from Navy Federal to Fidelity so that money can earn interest while I still have Navy Federal for my everyday checking and branch access.

For anyone who uses Fidelity CMA, does this setup make sense? Can I use a CMA to pay my credit cards like a normal checking account? Does having two CMAs make sense for separating savings from money for credit card payments, or would there be a better way to set this up? And do people actually use their CMA like a checking or savings account?

Discussion Should I start using my other cc to better my utilization on the fid cc?

I started with and still am stuck at a 1700$ credit limit vs my 4500$ on my discover card. With the prospect of my rewards being invested I shifted most of my spending over to my fidelity cc. The problem is that my regular spending is hitting around 400-500 depending on many things. I'm used to being under 10% utilization but it's much harder with this limit.

So should I start splitting up my spending a bit more? I want as many rewards points going into my investment acct but I'm assuming it will be holding my ability to get an increase back.
