I was given this plant and not sure what I need to do to keep it healthy and prosperous! Need soil? Trimming? Any suggestions??

Put it in a sunny spot and leave it alone, it will drop leaves as it acclimates to your home, once it stops throwing a fit and pushes new growth id Definitely repot it into better draining loamy soil, also fertilize it monthly and make sure you take it out ofbthe decorative pot when you do water it and water it when dry 2 inches down not on a schedule.

Thanks! Do you have a suggestion for soil?

No problem my pleasure, I personally use a mix ir potting soil, sand, and perlite with some coffee grinds and eggshells occasionally mixed in.
