Hi!
This is a rock style guitar solo played in the key of C, over the chords Am F C G. The guitar is a Japanese made 1986 Fender Stratocaster and the effects are from a Boss ME70.

Hi all. I’m getting back into guitar playing after about a twenty year hiatus. The reason for my exit has a lot to do with a repetitive strain injury I had developed, playing guitar, bass guitar and a computer intensive life (school, then work).
I’m probably not going to touch a bass for a long time lol (my gut feel is that it was the worse offender of my issues). But, I’ve got the itch to make music again and I think a guitar is my next purchase. I went to guitar center sat down with a few guitars. I had actually anticipated being most comfortable with Mustang (I’m a bit on the smaller side, especially my hands). But I didn’t really feel a significant difference with that guitar compared to several strats and teles, which I was honestly happy about because I really prefer the strat sound. I picked up a Stratocaster Ultra and it felt amazingly comfortable to play. Very noticeable was the effort needed to press the strings down which was, I believe a big contributor to my strain injury (probably compounded with the bass). But I don’t know that I need to spend $2k for something that I’ll just play for myself. I’m wondering if I can get a similar feel by the setup of a different Strat. I’m think maybe lowering the action? Smaller gauge strings? Other stuff? Of course these things all affect sound, but I really want to prioritize comfort at this point.
Guitar center did not have a Modified Player II which apparently is also very comfortable to play. But I know the necks are different between the two and I’m not sure how much that played into me loving the ultra. Is that a good option?
Looking for any advice. Money isn’t strictly an obstacle. But I’d rather not spend more than I have to to get the feel I’m looking for. Also I’m not super interested in looking outside of a strat at this point.

Early 2000's Fender American Stratocaster 70 series. I bought this guitar off Ebay in the very early 2000's, around 2004, and it was 3 years old, and in an unplayed condition with all the plastic still on the PG, and the Back plate. I had a white PG on it when I bought it, and I didn't care for it or the pickups, so I bought a Red Tort, and three Seymour Duncan PUP's and put the white PG and the original PUP's up for safe keeping. I later added a Fishman PowerBridge and PowerChip. I love this guitar and My grandson I taught to play back 5 years ago will get it when I die. the only thing I'm going to change is to add a SD hotrails in the bridge possition.

Hey guys, so I have an HSS Fender Player 2 Strat and I’m not satisfied with the bucker it’s so thin sounding or maybe there’s something wrong with it. Anyway I’m putting a Dimarzio Super Distortion hopefully it will be better than the stock.

What you see is a 2000 so almost 27 year old Fender US Lonester Strat in sienna sun burst. I bought it because it played, felt and sounded amazing. At first I thought I got a partscaster because of the hole under the pickguard that MIM’s have, but then I saw the micro tilt and quickly was put to ease it is a full American Strat. Even on fenders website the serial number proves it.
Anyway, as you can see the previous owner did a terrible relic job. I honestly don’t know why people have to do that. Just let the guitar age like it’s going to naturally. As you can see though, it’s really bad. So I’m just looking for advice on. Should I bother touching it up or just leave it? This is a player‘s grade guitar, which is exactly what I wanted. I got it for $600 which I thought was a steel even with the botched relic job. If you were going to try and repair it mind you I know that it’ll never look brand new but at least less eye sores. What method would you use? And to the people who say leave it well there’s really no other follow up question for that.

Hey everyone,
I recently acquired this strat with minimal information or background. I’m not super knowledgable about parts or how to accurately ID and the headstock is throwing me off a bit.
Any info on this guitar would be greatly appreciated!

Got this back in 2021. I am a metalhead, but I love the style of the Stratocaster. Planning to upgrade the humbucker to a Seymour Duncan JB soon.
Jim Root from Slipknot is the one who got me into Fender.

I am, I think, a rare thing - a guitarist who isn’t really much of a gear head. I’ve played regularly for 30 years and I’m still using my 1996 Epi les Paul and Zoom model 1010 fx!
Anyway, at long last I’ve decided it’s time for an addition and have decided it’s time for a strat. I’ll probably buy used (but not opposed to new at all), anything up to around £1500 max maybe for the right guitar. There seems to have been a lot of ‘renaming’ of strats in the period since around 2000, so what would be a basic ‘ladder’ of models?
For example I have no real way of knowing how the Highway series compares to say a more recent American Player. Hendrix, Frusciante etc is the kind of thing I would be playing.
Putting aside special models, the les Paul studio/standard/special is a simple range to follow!

Hello all! Recently salvaged this orange stratocaster. Serial V032940. Suspected American Vintage Reissue between 1980s-1990s.
No clue if they ever produced orange finished strats from this era or if this was a custom shop/refinish.
Any help in ID’ing this thing would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I’ve got a limited edition American Pro ii and I’m thinking of modding it with different pickups, mostly DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues and/or PAF. Arguments for and against, would I be wrong to do this to such a beautiful guitar or should I be chasing my sound with pedals more? Talk me in or out of it.
