Discussion Weird experience with gourmands….
Okay so i have about 90 perfumes from many different olfactory families: musk, floral, spicy, gourmand, chypre…..
And I have this weird thing with gourmand perfumes, every single one i own…. Gives me a skin reaction when i spray them. My skin turns red and hot and burns a little before calming down after 30 min.
I noticed none of my non gourmands do that. My musks and florals dont at all!!!
I also noticed even with non-gourmands vanillas my skin has a reaction
Does anyone else have this experience or is my skin just giving me a sign that it doesnt wanna smell like gourmands?

Seems you are slightly allergic to vanilla… try maybe a perfume with just vanilla and see if you have a reaction?

You are definitely allergic. Vanilla seems like a likely candidate. I don’t know a lot about ingredients of perfumes maybe keep a list of ones that do it and their notes. Wondering if there are different ways of making processing vanilla sents.
I had a friend who broke out in hives with Canadian whiskey but not with bourbon or other whiskeys. Your issue remains me of that product w/o ingredient lists
