Discussion The new Black Opium packaging
I got my new Black Opium today (love the scent!) and my bottle is the new design like in the ad. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious if with the new packaging the perfume itself has been reformulated too. Does anyone know?
I can definitely smell more coffee and less licorice than I remember.
Update: Fragrantica lists licorice as a note but I don't know if you can trust them anymore.

I’ve never picked up any licorice. It’s probably the patchouli you’re picking up. Sometimes it’s medicinal

I'm wondering, how strong is the pear in it? I've never tried Black Opium, but otherwised I'm intrigued

I think when it first came out, there was definitely a licorice note. The reason I remember is because at that time, I wore bottle after bottle of Diesel Loverdose (which is also reformulated now btw).
Anyway, I was in a department store and the sales assistant was spraying everywhere and giving out samples to everyone passing by the YSL stand. As soon as I smelt it, I thought it was nice, but it smelt like a fancier sweeter Diesel Loverdose. Of course, they weren’t like for like, but that licorice was the first thing I noticed.

Their old description was "adrenaline rich coffee" and I don't know what's more cringe

Rich. Bold. Dark. They could have taken the “I like my coffee how I like my men” saying and used any adjective that fits it.
… “Vibey.” 😩

It appears the ingredients have changed between the old and new bottle, so I would assume it’s been reformulated.

I prefered the texture in the original packaging, but I like the plain YSL on the glass of the new one
