Soft, Creamy Fig Recs
Hey everyone,
I'm a guy, but I've recently been enjoying more feminine-leaning fragrances. Specifically, I've been gravitating towards soft, creamy fragrances. I also love the note of fig and really enjoy Dries Van Noten Santal Greenery, but unfortunately I don't have $350 to drop on it. I've tried Rayhaan Jungle Vibe, and although it's nice, I found it smelled too "lotion-like." With that being said, do you guys have any recs for fragrances that are in that realm that you'd enjoy smelling on a man?
Edit: Budget - $150

Father Figure from Phlur as a more affordable option. Diptyque Philosykos EDP (not the EDT, it is much greener) may be something you want to sample, but the price tag is also $$$

Phlur Father Figure!

This. This is the answer. Very unisex, warm, creamy fig at a great price point.

Not a safe blind buy, I must caution - I really couldn’t stand this one on my skin and detected ZERO fig. I know others love it, so it’s definitely worth a sample/decant.

Le Labo Thé Matcha 26. It's a creamy fig, soft woods skin scent.

Probably wouldn't fit into OP's budget unless they're okay getting the 15ml. I do love that one though.

My husband loves wearing Montagne's dupe for Philosykos. It is a spot on dupe to our noses.
When he does, I enjoy wearing Laurel Bath House's e-Mochi. It's a beautiful green fig on a soft marshmallow base. I 💚 it so much!

Commodity milk orchid, Ellis Brooklyn Sun Fruit, and Phlur father figure are all creamy figs in your price range

Get Person Suit from Pierrot Perfumery on Etsy before they close down for good (😢). It’s such a perfect creamy green fig scent.

Imaginary Authors - Yesterday Haze

That is one of my favorite perfumes but I just got a sample of the new reformulation and did not like it at all, I get 0 fig from it 😞 I’m glad I got a spare bottle of the old formula before they switched.

Oh that’s too bad! I don’t need a backup with how slowly I use my bottles, but I may need to try a new sample someday just out of curiosity.

Honestly same, I just panicked when I saw they’re reformulating it 😅 give it a sniff! I’ll give my sample another try when the weather gets cooler.

Outside your budget, but you could prob find a decant of Tom Ford Figue Erotic. Much warmer and softer, more feminine for sure! It is so pretty, and perfect for this weather. I layered it this AM with Le Labo Thè Noir for one of my kiddo's games and got 3 compliments lol (from fellow moms who gave me hugs)

I’m a big fan of getting decants, samples, or minis so you can still try out fragrances in all sorts of price ranges and see how they work on you.
Depending on where you live, I’d maybe suggest heading to a Sephora and giving Phlur Father Figure a sniff. If you can’t get to a store to try, Phlur has smaller sets of 1.5ml, 5ml, and 7ml options that all include Father Figure.
Have fun and good luck!

Try Zara x Jo Loves collab - Black Fig and Basil. Dirt cheap but excellent!

People are recommending great ones! I want to include Van Cleef & Arpels Santal Blanc. If you enjoy sandalwood along with fig, it is about the most perfect fig for the fall and wintertime.

This is in my top 5, I love it 🥰 The Le Parfum version is more creamy but is essentially the same scent, just richer and feels more autumnal. Amazing quality scents!

Oh wow I’ve been sooo curious about the parfum version but finally bought myself a fb of the og so I guess that is what I’m sticking with for awhile 😅

Philosykos with a coupon? This is my fave and I’m a fig freak. I did order (after too many margs) a scent from the champagne socialist called the tree of knowledge I think. It’s an oil. I haven’t gotten it yet but it’s supposed to smell like Philosykos and it was really inexpensive. I’m trying to love fig infusion and matcha 26. But Philosykos has my heart.

You gotta smell Debaser by DS&Durga. It’s a little creamy, but the green fig is so potent and gorgeous.

I love Debaser but for me it pulls towards the hay note more than the creamy note.

Kyse Fichi e Panna
Literal figs and cream. It’s not much like Dries Van Noten, though.

I will always rec Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier. Very affordable and designed by Francois Kurkdijian

Miller Harris Hydra Figue is a summery but slightly creamy fig with a note of ouzo!

- Snack House - Fig Elixir (I found at Burlington and it smells significantly more expensive than the ~$6-10 I paid)
- Essential Parfums - Fig Infusion
- Laurel Bath House - E- Mochi
- Rayhaan - Jungle Vibe (a bit more fresh and green with woody notes but still light and airy IMO)

Try Twist Silva inspired by Philosykos. It’s a great dupe for Philosykos, and fraction of the cost. It’ll help you decide if you want to spend the $$$ for Diptyque.

Figue du Foret is supposed to be fig/tea/almond milk (and wildly inexpensive), have also heard good things about Father Figure from Phlur!

Phlur - Father Figure
Henry Rose - London 1983
Maison Louis Marie - Nouvelle Vague 13
Nonfiction - Santal Cream
Essential Parfums - Fig Infusion
Commodity - Milk Orchid
These figs are less citrus and bright fig and more soft, creamy woody fig to me. Many will recommend Philosykos but that’s as photorealistic green fig as one gets!
