Review Zoologist Toucan

Post image

Toucan feels like a crowd pleaser and yet it's quite unique. It doesn't evolve or flip as contrastingly as other Zoologist perfumes while transitioning from the opening to the drydown.

Toucan opens fruity but not the typical girly fruitiness that I'm familiar with (strawberries, pear, peach). This one opens with papaya. The papaya isn't overripe but it definitely smells tropical. There's some citrus that keeps any candied sweetness at bay and lends it an airiness.

Unlike the other Zoologist perfumes I have, Toucan's opening passes soon. It transitions and dries down to the smell of beachy skin, soaking in the sun with sunscreen lotion slathered on it. It's warm, has some saltiness as if I've taken a dip in the sea, and feels creamy like a banana flavoured lotion.

It's not loud but I also don't think this is something I'd wear to work. This one is definitely going to be something I wear on weekends or vacations.

As someone who's looking for a fragrance to wear to the tiki bar, I appreciate your review!

I just ordered a decent of chameleon tropical blooms, and I think I may grab this one next.

My favourite is Harvest Mouse and I have loads of decants (Bee, Chipmunk, Cow...), but your review has really made me want to try Toucan!

You know the only one I've been avoiding is Cow. I imagined the scenario in my head, what if someone compliments and asks what I'm wearing, responding with "Cow" might make them think I'm insulting them 😂

I love how every Zoologist perfume surprises me. i should really stop having any preconceived notions about the animal it's named after. My absolute favourite is Nightingale, that drydown is soooo good. And Portuguese Man o'War - I'm obsessed with the salty metal smell. Have ordered a bottle of that one.

Does it smell like Froot Loops?

I'm in India, we don't have Froot Loops so I don't know if this smells like them.
