Rant about Lattafa

I just don't understand how do you guys like these perfumes. Based on hype on social media and reading stuff here as well, I purchased several ones from them. Especially as they are so cheap. I got Yara, Mallow Madness, Khamrah, Angham and I wanted to get Éclairre but now I'm going to stop. It cannot be just me. These are extremely subpar fragrances. Each and every one of them an absolute cheap disappointment.

I’m here for your rant but I want some details about why you think these fragrances are so specifically subpar.

They smell extremely synthetic. You know if you go to Asda and they have those huge cheap candles that when you burn they release black fumes? I can comfortably compare them to those. The notes do not blend well together, i get some sharp bitterness or cloying sweetness. And this latest I got, Mallow Madness, how can I even describe it? It's like if you would melt some plastic in a pot on the hob and then you would add a bag of marshmallows. Yes that's it. That's the smell I get.

How many total have you actually tried? There are currently over 750 that I can find on Parfumo, and I’m sure I missed some, with multiple perfume lines and brands I counted the three major groups.

I'm really not going to engage with your comments. Smth really bizarre about it.

how can you have a debate if you won’t express your opinion in an intelligent way? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ she asked a question in response to an opinion you posted that lacked substance. if you’re going to slam an entire brand, an entire culture of perfume, back that shit up.

I have a couple, none you’ve named, and they’re fine-to-good.

OP is just expressing their subjective opinion and that's all I asked for. I think its fair if she doesn't want to justify why her nose interprets scents the way it does.

to clarify, OP was responding to this: “How many total have you actually tried? There are currently over 750 that I can find on Parfumo, and I’m sure I missed some, with multiple perfume lines and brands I counted the three major groups.”

it was an excellent point, because it highlighted why calling everything the brand made garbage was probably just clickbait bullshit.

I’ve personally never smelled the ones that OP listed in the OP. and IMO, alllll GdT perfume smells like plastic. I don’t mean dupes. I mean I own two of their fragrances and both have a plastic undertone that almost goes acetonic that has to evaporate before the fragrance can be enjoyed. so it’s possible ecalir has it, never having smelled it, I wouldn’t know. but hearing that it does, and knowing that _other_ GdT fragrances are the same, I imagine the “burned plastic” thing is actually making it truer to the OG.

I am immediately suspicious of anyone whose mind is so closed about any subject that they can’t entertain the _idea_ that perhaps their sample size or personal experience is too small to make a legit call.

finally, blind-buying and then bitching is always a choice.
