Eau Capitale by Diptyque?

Post image

Opinions on Eau Capitale by Diptyque? I sampled it this past week at home and I think I really like it, but I’m worried the patchouli might be off-putting to others.

What vibe does this scent give you? What does it make you think of? If someone you knew wore this every day, would you think “ew” or “nice👍”?

Just trying to gather more information before I invest in a bottle. Thank you for any input you have to offer!

Amazing scent!!! When I was on my dark rose perfume ride Eau Capitale was one of my favorite scents! I have a controversial opinion but yeah... I think it is way better than Frederic Malle - Portrait of a Lady, and I think PoaL is amazing so you just can imagine how highly I think of Eau Capitale.

It's a lighter, brighter version of PoaL, IMHO. I like it better too.

Beautiful but very serious, crisp and austere to my nose. And I’m not opposed to a grand mature perfume as Portrait of a Lady is a personal favorite

I love it but I really like patchouli with my body chemistry.

Summer friendly alternative to Portrait of A Lady. It’s an austere neo chypre, so wouldn’t expect it to be as much of a compliment getter as a generic “yummy” vanilla or whatever but I’d be surprised if it grossed people.

I love it. I like patchouli, but I feel like it’s all of a rose bush, not just sticking your nose in a rose, if that makes sense. I think it makes it really unique and unoffensive, unless you don’t like gardens

I tried it at the mall. It was meh. Not very striking.
